Island je proglasio izvanredno stanje, a policija je pozvala stanovništvo obalnog grada Grindavík da se evakuira nakon intenzivnog vala potresa na jugozapadu zemlje, koji se povezuju s mogućom vulkanskom erupcijom.

Između ponoći i 14 sati zabilježeno je gotovo 800 potresa, a najplići od njih bio je na dubini od 3 do 3,5 kilometara, javlja islandski meteorološki ured, prenosi Jutarnji.

U petak je islandska Agencija za civilnu zaštitu rekla da bi tunel od magme koji se formira mogao doći do Grindavíka. Vlasti su kasnije rekle da je nemoguće znati može li se magma probiti na površinu i gdje.

- Može doći i do većih potresa od ovih koji su se već dogodili, a taj bi slijed događaja mogao dovesti i do erupcije. Međutim, još nema znakova da se magma približava površini. Sve pomno pratimo, priopćeno je iz Agencije za civilnu zaštitu.

- Mogu se očekivati potresi magnitude do 5,5 Richtera jer se nakupljanje magme nastavlja ispod zemlje. U ovoj fazi nema naznaka da magma probija svoj put prema površini - obavijestio je Met Office.

Vlasti su pozvale stanovnike da se mirno evakuiraju, rekavši da nema neposredne opasnosti.

- Ponavljamo da stanovnici MORAJU evakuirati svoje domove i napustiti grad. No ističemo i da se ne radi o hitnoj evakuaciji. Imate dovoljno vremena da se pripremite, osigurate stvari i mirno se odvezete iz grada, dodaje se u priopćenju.

- Jasno je da imamo posla s nečim što još nismo doživjeli, ali zajedno ćemo se suočiti s time i nećemo klonuti duhom, dodaju iz Agencije za civilnu zaštitu.

Izdano je i upozorenje na pojačane znakove vulkanske aktivnosti.

- Ako dođe do erupcije, slijedite upute islandskih vlasti. Vulkanske opasnosti mogu uključivati lavu, otrovne plinove i gusti dim od požara koje je zapalila lava, navodi se.

Svjetski poznati termalni bazen Plava laguna na tom području već je zatvoren zbog seizmičke aktivnosti.

Plava Laguna dio je poluotoka Reykjanes na jugozapadu Islanda gdje se nalazi i glavna islandska zračna luka Keflavik. Iako je Island jedno od najaktivnijih vulkanskih područja na Zemlji, za poluotok Reykjanes podignut je zasad samo žuti alarm zbog opasnosti od erupcije.

Prema Islandskom meteorološkom uredu, izmjereno je oko 1400 potresa u četvrtak i još 800 potresa u prvih 14 sati petka.

Sedam potresa u četvrtak bilo je magnitude četiri ili više s epicentrom na poluotoku Reykjanes, blizu zračne luke i planine istočno od Plave lagune. Najjači potres bio je jačine 4,8 po Richteru, zapadno od Þorbjörna, planine smještene oko kilometar i pol južno od Plave Lagune.

- To je najveći potres od početka aktivnosti 25. listopada - upozorio je Met Office, nadodajući da se može očekivati nastavak seizmičke aktivnosti na poluotoku Reykjanes dok se nastavlja nakupljanje magme, što uzrokuje povećanu napetost na području.

Island je proglasio izvanredno stanje, a policija je pozvala stanovništvo obalnog grada Grindavík da se evakuira nakon intenzivnog vala potresa na jugozapadu zemlje, koji se povezuju s mogućom vulkanskom erupcijom.

Između ponoći i 14 sati zabilježeno je gotovo 800 potresa, a najplići od njih bio je na dubini od 3 do 3,5 kilometara, javlja islandski meteorološki ured, prenosi Jutarnji.

U petak je islandska Agencija za civilnu zaštitu rekla da bi tunel od magme koji se formira mogao doći do Grindavíka. Vlasti su kasnije rekle da je nemoguće znati može li se magma probiti na površinu i gdje.

Vlasti su pozvale stanovnike da se mirno evakuiraju, rekavši da nema neposredne opasnosti.

- Ponavljamo da stanovnici MORAJU evakuirati svoje domove i napustiti grad. No ističemo i da se ne radi o hitnoj evakuaciji. Imate dovoljno vremena da se pripremite, osigurate stvari i mirno se odvezete iz grada, dodaje se u priopćenju.

- Jasno je da imamo posla s nečim što još nismo doživjeli, ali zajedno ćemo se suočiti s time i nećemo klonuti duhom, dodaju iz Agencije za civilnu zaštitu.

Izdano je i upozorenje na pojačane znakove vulkanske aktivnosti.

- Ako dođe do erupcije, slijedite upute islandskih vlasti. Vulkanske opasnosti mogu uključivati lavu, otrovne plinove i gusti dim od požara koje je zapalila lava, navodi se.

Svjetski poznati termalni bazen Plava laguna na tom području već je zatvoren zbog seizmičke aktivnosti.

Plava Laguna dio je poluotoka Reykjanes na jugozapadu Islanda gdje se nalazi i glavna islandska zračna luka Keflavik. Iako je Island jedno od najaktivnijih vulkanskih područja na Zemlji, za poluotok Reykjanes podignut je zasad samo žuti alarm zbog opasnosti od erupcije.

Prema Islandskom meteorološkom uredu, izmjereno je oko 1400 potresa u četvrtak i još 800 potresa u prvih 14 sati petka.

Sedam potresa u četvrtak bilo je magnitude četiri ili više s epicentrom na poluotoku Reykjanes, blizu zračne luke i planine istočno od Plave lagune. Najjači potres bio je jačine 4,8 po Richteru, zapadno od Þorbjörna, planine smještene oko kilometar i pol južno od Plave Lagune.

- To je najveći potres od početka aktivnosti 25. listopada - upozorio je Met Office, nadodajući da se može očekivati nastavak seizmičke aktivnosti na poluotoku Reykjanes dok se nastavlja nakupljanje magme, što uzrokuje povećanu napetost na području.

Island je proglasio izvanredno stanje, a policija je pozvala stanovništvo obalnog grada Grindavík da se evakuira nakon intenzivnog vala potresa na jugozapadu zemlje, koji se povezuju s mogućom vulkanskom erupcijom.

Između ponoći i 14 sati zabilježeno je gotovo 800 potresa, a najplići od njih bio je na dubini od 3 do 3,5 kilometara, javlja islandski meteorološki ured, prenosi Jutarnji.

U petak je islandska Agencija za civilnu zaštitu rekla da bi tunel od magme koji se formira mogao doći do Grindavíka. Vlasti su kasnije rekle da je nemoguće znati može li se magma probiti na površinu i gdje.
