Ivana Čermaka počela je u četvrtak pred Haškim sudom iznositi uvodnu riječ, otvarajući time dokazni postupak obrane trojice hrvatskih generala
Gotovine, Čermaka i
Markača, optuženih za zločine počinjene tijekom Oluje.
"Obrana generala Ivana Čermaka pokazat će da su navodi tužiteljstva neutemeljeni", rekao je na početku uvodnih riječi Čermakov odvjetnik
Steven Kay.
Po njegovim riječima, imenovanje generala Čermaka na mjestu zapovjednika Zbornog mjesta Knin bilo je potpuno u skladu s tadašnjim hrvatskim zakonima, a glavna mu je zadaća bila normalizacija života u Kninu i okolici.
"Taj položaj po svojoj prirodi nije bio operativan... namjera nije bila da on bude prvi čovjek vojske", ustvrdio je Kay.
"Nije imao ni odgovornosti ni ovlasti da naređuje istrage i kazneno goni počinitelje zločina", dodao je.
Kako je rekao, obrana će podastrijeti čvrste dokaze da je MUP imao svoju vlastitu liniju ovlasti i da policija nije Čermaku bila podčinjena.
Također je istaknuo da činjenica da je Čermak prenosio informacije i izvješćivao o kaznenim djelima govori o tome da ih "nije ni poricao ni zataškavao".
Odvjetnik Kay je najavio niz svjedoka i vještaka, uključujući imeđunarodne, koji su upoznati s funkcioniranjem tadašnjeg hrvatskog zakonodavstva i ustroja vojske i policije.
Nakon Kaya u ime generala Čermaka, uvodnu riječ iznijet će Markačeva obrana. Odvjetnici generala Gotovine to su učinili na početku suđenja u ožujku prošle godine.
Prvi svjedok Gotovinine obrane najavljen je za utorak, 2. lipnja i njegov identitet zasad nije poznat.
Optužnica tereti trojicu visokih vojnih časnika da su se s hrvatskim političkim i vojnim vrhom udružili u zločinački pothvat u svrhu protjerivanja lokalnog srpskog stanovništva iz tzv. krajine u akciji Oluji u kolovozu 1995.

Ivana Čermaka počela je u četvrtak pred Haškim sudom iznositi uvodnu riječ, otvarajući time dokazni postupak obrane trojice hrvatskih generala
Gotovine, Čermaka i
Markača, optuženih za zločine počinjene tijekom Oluje.
"Obrana generala Ivana Čermaka pokazat će da su navodi tužiteljstva neutemeljeni", rekao je na početku uvodnih riječi Čermakov odvjetnik
Steven Kay.
Po njegovim riječima, imenovanje generala Čermaka na mjestu zapovjednika Zbornog mjesta Knin bilo je potpuno u skladu s tadašnjim hrvatskim zakonima, a glavna mu je zadaća bila normalizacija života u Kninu i okolici.
"Taj položaj po svojoj prirodi nije bio operativan... namjera nije bila da on bude prvi čovjek vojske", ustvrdio je Kay.
"Nije imao ni odgovornosti ni ovlasti da naređuje istrage i kazneno goni počinitelje zločina", dodao je.
Kako je rekao, obrana će podastrijeti čvrste dokaze da je MUP imao svoju vlastitu liniju ovlasti i da policija nije Čermaku bila podčinjena.
Također je istaknuo da činjenica da je Čermak prenosio informacije i izvješćivao o kaznenim djelima govori o tome da ih "nije ni poricao ni zataškavao".
Odvjetnik Kay je najavio niz svjedoka i vještaka, uključujući imeđunarodne, koji su upoznati s funkcioniranjem tadašnjeg hrvatskog zakonodavstva i ustroja vojske i policije.
Nakon Kaya u ime generala Čermaka, uvodnu riječ iznijet će Markačeva obrana. Odvjetnici generala Gotovine to su učinili na početku suđenja u ožujku prošle godine.
Prvi svjedok Gotovinine obrane najavljen je za utorak, 2. lipnja i njegov identitet zasad nije poznat.
Optužnica tereti trojicu visokih vojnih časnika da su se s hrvatskim političkim i vojnim vrhom udružili u zločinački pothvat u svrhu protjerivanja lokalnog srpskog stanovništva iz tzv. krajine u akciji Oluji u kolovozu 1995.
