Dvije brane iznad grada Derne na istoku Libije, koje su pukle i izazvale poplave s tisućama žrtava, gradile su jugoslavenske kompanije. Brane izgrađene sada već dalekih 1970-ih vjerojatno su vrlo loše održavane, piše Klix.ba, prenosi Jutarnji list.

Također, lokacija samo kilometar iznad grada nije bila adekvatna za ovakav arhitektonski pothvat.

Grad Derna u prošlosti je često doživljavao poplave i zato je vlada odlučila izgraditi brane kako bi ga zaštitila. Velike poplave oštetile su grad na ušću 1941., 1959. i 1968. godine, a one 1950-ih bile su najrazornije.

Šezdesetih godina prošlog stoljeća je nastala studija koja je predlagala izgradnju brana, u čiju realizaciju se vrlo brzo krenulo. Poplave iz 1986. godine su nove brane savladale i voda nije stigla do grada.

Gornja brana imala je kapacitet od 1,5 milijuna kubika vode, dok je druga imala kapacitet do 22 milijuna kubika vode.

Sredstva za brane - preusmjerili

Nekada jugoslavenska, danas srbijanska kompanija Hidrotehnika-Hidroenergetika na svojoj web stranici navodi da je između 1973. i 1977. izgradila dvije brane i velik broj objekata poput tunela, crpnih stanica i rezervoara u regiji Derna.

Sve je trebalo poslužiti za navodnjavanje i opskrbu vodom grada i okolnih sela, ali i sprečavanje poplava.

Dogradonačelnik Derne je priznao da se brane nisu održavale od 2002. godine. Gnjev javnosti potakle su tvrdnje na društvenim mrežama da su sredstva namijenjena održavanju brane preusmjerena u druge svrhe. Stručnjak za brane Muhammad Ahmad kritizirao je u libijskim medijima "sigurnosni kaos i sporost libijskih vlasti" u pogledu sigurnosnih mjera.

Prema mišljenju stručnjaka, najvjerojatniji scenarij proboja brane je postupno urušavanje najprije gornje, a potom i donje brane. Ekstremne padaline i način izgradnje brane pridonijeli su katastrofi. Naime, libijske brane napravljene su od materijala dostupnih u regiji, tj. gline i kamenja.

Prema riječima Dragana Savića, stručnjaka s kojim je razgovarao BBC, ova vrsta nasipa se ne prelijeva, ali se nakon nasipanja, za razliku od betonskih, često uruši, navodi Klix.ba, prenosi Jutarnji list.

Dvije brane iznad grada Derne na istoku Libije, koje su pukle i izazvale poplave s tisućama žrtava, gradile su jugoslavenske kompanije. Brane izgrađene sada već dalekih 1970-ih vjerojatno su vrlo loše održavane, piše Klix.ba, prenosi Jutarnji list.

Također, lokacija samo kilometar iznad grada nije bila adekvatna za ovakav arhitektonski pothvat.

Grad Derna u prošlosti je često doživljavao poplave i zato je vlada odlučila izgraditi brane kako bi ga zaštitila. Velike poplave oštetile su grad na ušću 1941., 1959. i 1968. godine, a one 1950-ih bile su najrazornije.

Šezdesetih godina prošlog stoljeća je nastala studija koja je predlagala izgradnju brana, u čiju realizaciju se vrlo brzo krenulo. Poplave iz 1986. godine su nove brane savladale i voda nije stigla do grada.

Gornja brana imala je kapacitet od 1,5 milijuna kubika vode, dok je druga imala kapacitet do 22 milijuna kubika vode.

Sredstva za brane - preusmjerili

Nekada jugoslavenska, danas srbijanska kompanija Hidrotehnika-Hidroenergetika na svojoj web stranici navodi da je između 1973. i 1977. izgradila dvije brane i velik broj objekata poput tunela, crpnih stanica i rezervoara u regiji Derna.

Sve je trebalo poslužiti za navodnjavanje i opskrbu vodom grada i okolnih sela, ali i sprečavanje poplava.

Dogradonačelnik Derne je priznao da se brane nisu održavale od 2002. godine. Gnjev javnosti potakle su tvrdnje na društvenim mrežama da su sredstva namijenjena održavanju brane preusmjerena u druge svrhe. Stručnjak za brane Muhammad Ahmad kritizirao je u libijskim medijima "sigurnosni kaos i sporost libijskih vlasti" u pogledu sigurnosnih mjera.

Prema mišljenju stručnjaka, najvjerojatniji scenarij proboja brane je postupno urušavanje najprije gornje, a potom i donje brane. Ekstremne padaline i način izgradnje brane pridonijeli su katastrofi. Naime, libijske brane napravljene su od materijala dostupnih u regiji, tj. gline i kamenja.

Prema riječima Dragana Savića, stručnjaka s kojim je razgovarao BBC, ova vrsta nasipa se ne prelijeva, ali se nakon nasipanja, za razliku od betonskih, često uruši, navodi Klix.ba, prenosi Jutarnji list.
