Umro je Slavko Degoricija, čovjek iz ešalona prvih hadezeovaca, bivši 'proljećar' blizak Joži Boljkovcu, Šimi Balenu, Stipi Mesiću, Josipu Manoliću…
Riječ je o HDZ-ovoj utemeljiteljskoj 'partizanskoj struji' koju su mahom činili brojni aktivni antifašisti na čelu s Franjom Tuđmanom. Valjalo je u prvim danima HDZ-ova ovladavanja Hrvatskom pokušati uvjeriti svijet i hrvatske Srbe kako na vlast nisu došli nikakvi ekstremi, nego već dokazani borci protiv fašizma, međunacionalne mržnje i nepravde. Najveći dio njih se u svojega Vrhovnika gorko razočarao nakon što je ubrzo sebi bližim i važnijim učinio hercegovačko-emigrantski, neskriveno proustaški, ali i pretvorbeno-profiterski stranački krug.
Degoricija je bio Likota rođen 1931. godine u okolici Otočca, selu Kompolje. Nakon završene učiteljske škole radio je kao prosvjetar po ličkim selima te se s vremenom usidrio u Kutini, i to na funkciji sekretara Komisije za povijest radničkog pokreta i direktora Muzeja narodne revolucije u Moslavini. Tu se još šezdesetih upoznao s tadašnjim direktorom republičkoga Instituta za historijat radničkog pokreta iz Zagreba, Franjom Tuđmanom. Izvanredno studirajući završio je studij povijesti. Zbog sudjelovanja u maspoku sedamdesetih Degoricija je ostao bez posla i politički je proganjan, no prijatelj Tuđman mu devedesete nudi povijesnu priliku za rehabilitaciju: postaje osnivač HDZ-a i saborski zastupnik stranke u dva mandata.

Bio je i zamjenik ministra unutarnjih poslova Jože Boljkovca, te voditelj državnoga izaslanstva za pregovore s lokalnim Srbima u sam osvit rata. S pobunjenim Srbima sastajao se po terenu više od pedeset puta, kupujući vrijeme dok se država naoružavala i odlazeći preko barikada u ruralna područja od Lapca pa do Knina, nerijetko riskirajući i glavu. Degoricija je o tom pregovaračkom iskustvu 2008. objavio povijesno zanimljivu knjigu „Nije bilo uzalud“, nijansirajući pogled na tadašnje stanje unutar srpskog korpusa, te opisujući njegove umjerene i krvožedne elemente, kao i uvezene Miloševićeve 'kovače rata'.
Kad su zbog razilaženja s Tuđmanovom politikom prema BiH Manolić i Mesić 1994. godine napustili HDZ i osnovali Hrvatske nezavisne demokrate, pridružio im se i Slavko Degoricija. Kao tadašnji predsjednik Zavičajnog društva Gacka dolina i Brinje u Zagrebu, novoj je stranci na korištenje ustupio prostorije udruge u Ilici u kojima su registrirali sjedište i održavali tiskovne konferencije. Kasnije će se zbog napuštanja Tuđmana Degoricija pomalo ritualno pokajati.
„Ja se 1994. zapravo nisam rastao od Tuđmana, nego od ljudi oko njega,“ reći će godinama kasnije, na predstavljanju svoje knjige. Stara, prvoboračka, stranačka garda poražena je u tadašnjim HDZ-ovim frakcijskim borbama od Šuška, Pašalića, Šarinića i drugih Vrhovniku potrebitijih pobočnika. Uvrijeđeni i odbačeni, haendeovci su godinama tavorili u opoziciji, da bi ih nakon ujedinjenja s HNS-om i Degoricija napustio, skupa s aktivnom politikom. Za Manolića će kasnije pričati kako je školovani NKVD-ovac koji je završio sovjetsku špijunsku školu u Moskvi, a za Mesića kako je čovjek bistra uma, no lijen, te sklon vicevima, a ne odgovornom poslu. Degoricija je bio među rijetkima koji su veliki politički potencijal vidjeli u Tomislavu Karamarku, dok je kratko i destruktivno bio na čelu HDZ-a.

Umro je Slavko Degoricija, čovjek iz ešalona prvih hadezeovaca, bivši 'proljećar' blizak Joži Boljkovcu, Šimi Balenu, Stipi Mesiću, Josipu Manoliću…
Riječ je o HDZ-ovoj utemeljiteljskoj 'partizanskoj struji' koju su mahom činili brojni aktivni antifašisti na čelu s Franjom Tuđmanom. Valjalo je u prvim danima HDZ-ova ovladavanja Hrvatskom pokušati uvjeriti svijet i hrvatske Srbe kako na vlast nisu došli nikakvi ekstremi, nego već dokazani borci protiv fašizma, međunacionalne mržnje i nepravde. Najveći dio njih se u svojega Vrhovnika gorko razočarao nakon što je ubrzo sebi bližim i važnijim učinio hercegovačko-emigrantski, neskriveno proustaški, ali i pretvorbeno-profiterski stranački krug.
Degoricija je bio Likota rođen 1931. godine u okolici Otočca, selu Kompolje. Nakon završene učiteljske škole radio je kao prosvjetar po ličkim selima te se s vremenom usidrio u Kutini, i to na funkciji sekretara Komisije za povijest radničkog pokreta i direktora Muzeja narodne revolucije u Moslavini. Tu se još šezdesetih upoznao s tadašnjim direktorom republičkoga Instituta za historijat radničkog pokreta iz Zagreba, Franjom Tuđmanom. Izvanredno studirajući završio je studij povijesti. Zbog sudjelovanja u maspoku sedamdesetih Degoricija je ostao bez posla i politički je proganjan, no prijatelj Tuđman mu devedesete nudi povijesnu priliku za rehabilitaciju: postaje osnivač HDZ-a i saborski zastupnik stranke u dva mandata.

Bio je i zamjenik ministra unutarnjih poslova Jože Boljkovca, te voditelj državnoga izaslanstva za pregovore s lokalnim Srbima u sam osvit rata. S pobunjenim Srbima sastajao se po terenu više od pedeset puta, kupujući vrijeme dok se država naoružavala i odlazeći preko barikada u ruralna područja od Lapca pa do Knina, nerijetko riskirajući i glavu. Degoricija je o tom pregovaračkom iskustvu 2008. objavio povijesno zanimljivu knjigu „Nije bilo uzalud“, nijansirajući pogled na tadašnje stanje unutar srpskog korpusa, te opisujući njegove umjerene i krvožedne elemente, kao i uvezene Miloševićeve 'kovače rata'.
Kad su zbog razilaženja s Tuđmanovom politikom prema BiH Manolić i Mesić 1994. godine napustili HDZ i osnovali Hrvatske nezavisne demokrate, pridružio im se i Slavko Degoricija. Kao tadašnji predsjednik Zavičajnog društva Gacka dolina i Brinje u Zagrebu, novoj je stranci na korištenje ustupio prostorije udruge u Ilici u kojima su registrirali sjedište i održavali tiskovne konferencije. Kasnije će se zbog napuštanja Tuđmana Degoricija pomalo ritualno pokajati.
„Ja se 1994. zapravo nisam rastao od Tuđmana, nego od ljudi oko njega,“ reći će godinama kasnije, na predstavljanju svoje knjige. Stara, prvoboračka, stranačka garda poražena je u tadašnjim HDZ-ovim frakcijskim borbama od Šuška, Pašalića, Šarinića i drugih Vrhovniku potrebitijih pobočnika. Uvrijeđeni i odbačeni, haendeovci su godinama tavorili u opoziciji, da bi ih nakon ujedinjenja s HNS-om i Degoricija napustio, skupa s aktivnom politikom. Za Manolića će kasnije pričati kako je školovani NKVD-ovac koji je završio sovjetsku špijunsku školu u Moskvi, a za Mesića kako je čovjek bistra uma, no lijen, te sklon vicevima, a ne odgovornom poslu. Degoricija je bio među rijetkima koji su veliki politički potencijal vidjeli u Tomislavu Karamarku, dok je kratko i destruktivno bio na čelu HDZ-a.
