Ženska teniska asocijacija  (WTA) "vrlo je zabrinuta" zbog nestanka kineske tenisačice Shuai Peng, izjavio je predsjednik WTA Steve Simon. 

Kako prenose kineski državni mediji, kineska je tenisačica poslala e-mail koji nije umirio vodstvo WTA-e.

Državni kineski medij CGTN objavio je kasno u srijedu e-mail koji je WTA-u navodno poslala 35-godišnja Peng.

Peng, koja je 2013. osvojila Wimbledon u parovima, a godinu dana kasnije i Roland Garros, nestala je početkom ovog mjeseca nakon što je optužila utjecajnog člana Komunističke partije Kine da ju je prisiljavao na spolni odnos.

Ranije ovog mjeseca Peng je na društvenim mrežama napisala da ju je Gaoli Zhang, sada 75-godišnjak, "natjerao na seksualni odnos". Napisala je i da je s njim već nekoliko godina u podređenom odnosu.

Kineski online cenzori brzo su izbrisali objavu s platforme Weibo, uklonili sve inkriminirajuće dokaze o optužbama protiv utjecajnog člana kineske vlade, a Peng nakon toga nioje viđena u javnosti niti je išta objavila na društvenim mrežama.

Sada je, međutim, 35-godišnja tenisačica navodno napisala u e-poruci da njezine prethodno iznesene "optužbe nisu točne". Dodala je da "nije nestala i da nije u nevolji".

Međutim, prema Steveu Simonu, nitko povezan s WTA-om nije mogao izravno kontaktirati Peng kako bi potvrdio njezin status. A u srijedu navečer stigla je poruka u čiju autentičnost Simon ne vjeruje.

"Ova izjava, koju su objavili kineski državni mediji, samo dodatno potvrđuje moju zabrinutost oko toga gdje se nalazi Shuai Peng i oko njezine sigurnosti", navodi se u WTA priopćenju.

"Teško mi je povjerovati da je Peng to sama napisala ili da vjeruje napisanim riječima. Ona je bila iznimno hrabra u opisu seksualnog zlostavljanja. WTA i ostatak svijeta trebaju nepobitne i provjerljive dokaze da je Peng sigurna. Pokušavam cijelo vrijeme stupiti u kontakt s njom, ali unatoč mojim naporima, to mi još nije pošlo za rukom”, dodao je Simon.

Vodstvo WTA u nedjelju je zatražilo da se tvrdnje Peng istraže "potpuno, pošteno, transparentno i bez cenzure".

U međuvremenu su se javile brojne sadašnje i bivše tenisačice koje su izrazile potporu Kineskinji, među kojima je i Japanka Naomi Osaka te jedna od najboljih tenisačica u povijesti Amerikanka Chris Evert.

Ženska teniska asocijacija  (WTA) "vrlo je zabrinuta" zbog nestanka kineske tenisačice Shuai Peng, izjavio je predsjednik WTA Steve Simon. 

Kako prenose kineski državni mediji, kineska je tenisačica poslala e-mail koji nije umirio vodstvo WTA-e.

Državni kineski medij CGTN objavio je kasno u srijedu e-mail koji je WTA-u navodno poslala 35-godišnja Peng.

Peng, koja je 2013. osvojila Wimbledon u parovima, a godinu dana kasnije i Roland Garros, nestala je početkom ovog mjeseca nakon što je optužila utjecajnog člana Komunističke partije Kine da ju je prisiljavao na spolni odnos.

Ranije ovog mjeseca Peng je na društvenim mrežama napisala da ju je Gaoli Zhang, sada 75-godišnjak, "natjerao na seksualni odnos". Napisala je i da je s njim već nekoliko godina u podređenom odnosu.

Kineski online cenzori brzo su izbrisali objavu s platforme Weibo, uklonili sve inkriminirajuće dokaze o optužbama protiv utjecajnog člana kineske vlade, a Peng nakon toga nioje viđena u javnosti niti je išta objavila na društvenim mrežama.

Sada je, međutim, 35-godišnja tenisačica navodno napisala u e-poruci da njezine prethodno iznesene "optužbe nisu točne". Dodala je da "nije nestala i da nije u nevolji".

Međutim, prema Steveu Simonu, nitko povezan s WTA-om nije mogao izravno kontaktirati Peng kako bi potvrdio njezin status. A u srijedu navečer stigla je poruka u čiju autentičnost Simon ne vjeruje.

"Ova izjava, koju su objavili kineski državni mediji, samo dodatno potvrđuje moju zabrinutost oko toga gdje se nalazi Shuai Peng i oko njezine sigurnosti", navodi se u WTA priopćenju.

"Teško mi je povjerovati da je Peng to sama napisala ili da vjeruje napisanim riječima. Ona je bila iznimno hrabra u opisu seksualnog zlostavljanja. WTA i ostatak svijeta trebaju nepobitne i provjerljive dokaze da je Peng sigurna. Pokušavam cijelo vrijeme stupiti u kontakt s njom, ali unatoč mojim naporima, to mi još nije pošlo za rukom”, dodao je Simon.

Vodstvo WTA u nedjelju je zatražilo da se tvrdnje Peng istraže "potpuno, pošteno, transparentno i bez cenzure".

U međuvremenu su se javile brojne sadašnje i bivše tenisačice koje su izrazile potporu Kineskinji, među kojima je i Japanka Naomi Osaka te jedna od najboljih tenisačica u povijesti Amerikanka Chris Evert.

WTA i dalje zabrinut zbog nestanka kineske tenisačice Shuai Peng, sumnjaju u autentičnost njene poruke

Ženska teniska asocijacija  (WTA) "vrlo je zabrinuta" zbog nestanka kineske tenisačice Shuai Peng, izjavio je predsjednik WTA Steve Simon. 

Kako prenose kineski državni mediji, kineska je tenisačica poslala e-mail koji nije umirio vodstvo WTA-e.

Državni kineski medij CGTN objavio je kasno u srijedu e-mail koji je WTA-u navodno poslala 35-godišnja Peng.

Peng, koja je 2013. osvojila Wimbledon u parovima, a godinu dana kasnije i Roland Garros, nestala je početkom ovog mjeseca nakon što je optužila utjecajnog člana Komunističke partije Kine da ju je prisiljavao na spolni odnos.

Ranije ovog mjeseca Peng je na društvenim mrežama napisala da ju je Gaoli Zhang, sada 75-godišnjak, "natjerao na seksualni odnos". Napisala je i da je s njim već nekoliko godina u podređenom odnosu.
