U srijedu u meksičkoj Guadalajari počinje WTA Finals, završni turnir na kojem sudjeluje osam najboljih tenisačica i parova, a zasad najveći problem stvara nadmorska visina od 1.500 metara, odnosno rijedak zrak. 

Turnir je u Guadalajaru premješten iz Shenzhena zbog putnih restrikcija vezanih uz pandemiju koronovirusa u Kini.

Zbog rijetkog zraka tenisačice imaju problema sa kontrolom udaraca, odnosno putanjom i odskokom loptice, a i disanjem.

Španjolka Garbine Muguruza, osvajačica Roland Garrosa (2016) i Wimbledona (2017), istaknula je da je već igrala u Meksiku, ali nikad u takvim uvjetima: "Nikad prije ovo nisam doživjela, teško se naviknuti na igranje na ovakvoj nadmorskoj visini. Kako kontrolirati lopticu? Teško mi je, ali teško je i ostalima".

Grkinja Maria Sakkari kaže da će ključno biti smanjiti greške na najmanju moguću razinu. "Svjesna sam toga da ovdje neću pokazati svoj najbolji tenis, jer ovdje vam se događaju greške koje ne biste radili da igrate na normalnoj nadmorskoj visini".

Od nastupa u Guadalajari odustala je prva tenisačica svijeta Australka Ashleigh Barty, pa je prva nositeljica Bjeloruskinja Arina Sabalenka: "Nisam bila iznenađena, znala sam što donosi igranje na velikoj nadmorskoj visini, ali svejedno sam bila šokirana. Prvi dan treninga nisam mogla kontrolirati ništa. No, kada sam namjestila napetost žica na reketu stvari idu bolje iz dana u dan".

Na završnom turniru Guadalajari nastupat će i hrvatska tenisačica Darija Jurak u konkurenciji parova, zajedno sa Slovenkom Andrejom Klepač.

U srijedu u meksičkoj Guadalajari počinje WTA Finals, završni turnir na kojem sudjeluje osam najboljih tenisačica i parova, a zasad najveći problem stvara nadmorska visina od 1.500 metara, odnosno rijedak zrak. 

Turnir je u Guadalajaru premješten iz Shenzhena zbog putnih restrikcija vezanih uz pandemiju koronovirusa u Kini.

Zbog rijetkog zraka tenisačice imaju problema sa kontrolom udaraca, odnosno putanjom i odskokom loptice, a i disanjem.

Španjolka Garbine Muguruza, osvajačica Roland Garrosa (2016) i Wimbledona (2017), istaknula je da je već igrala u Meksiku, ali nikad u takvim uvjetima: "Nikad prije ovo nisam doživjela, teško se naviknuti na igranje na ovakvoj nadmorskoj visini. Kako kontrolirati lopticu? Teško mi je, ali teško je i ostalima".

Grkinja Maria Sakkari kaže da će ključno biti smanjiti greške na najmanju moguću razinu. "Svjesna sam toga da ovdje neću pokazati svoj najbolji tenis, jer ovdje vam se događaju greške koje ne biste radili da igrate na normalnoj nadmorskoj visini".

Od nastupa u Guadalajari odustala je prva tenisačica svijeta Australka Ashleigh Barty, pa je prva nositeljica Bjeloruskinja Arina Sabalenka: "Nisam bila iznenađena, znala sam što donosi igranje na velikoj nadmorskoj visini, ali svejedno sam bila šokirana. Prvi dan treninga nisam mogla kontrolirati ništa. No, kada sam namjestila napetost žica na reketu stvari idu bolje iz dana u dan".

Na završnom turniru Guadalajari nastupat će i hrvatska tenisačica Darija Jurak u konkurenciji parova, zajedno sa Slovenkom Andrejom Klepač.

‘Nikad prije ovo nisam doživjela. Teško mi je, ali teško je i ostalima‘: velika nadmorska visina najveći je problem na WTA Finalsu

U srijedu u meksičkoj Guadalajari počinje WTA Finals, završni turnir na kojem sudjeluje osam najboljih tenisačica i parova, a zasad najveći problem stvara nadmorska visina od 1.500 metara, odnosno rijedak zrak. 

Turnir je u Guadalajaru premješten iz Shenzhena zbog putnih restrikcija vezanih uz pandemiju koronovirusa u Kini.

Zbog rijetkog zraka tenisačice imaju problema sa kontrolom udaraca, odnosno putanjom i odskokom loptice, a i disanjem.

Španjolka Garbine Muguruza, osvajačica Roland Garrosa (2016) i Wimbledona (2017), istaknula je da je već igrala u Meksiku, ali nikad u takvim uvjetima: "Nikad prije ovo nisam doživjela, teško se naviknuti na igranje na ovakvoj nadmorskoj visini. Kako kontrolirati lopticu? Teško mi je, ali teško je i ostalima".
