Gotovo da nema nogometne zvijezde koja ovog ljeta među ponudama nije imala pokoji klub iz Saudijske Arabije. Cristiano Ronaldo već se prošle zime otisnuo put Bliskog istoka, a zauzvrat je dobio 200 milijuna dolara godišnje i sve što mu treba, a tamošnje vlasti su čak i zanemarile zakon kako bi Portugalac mogao živjeti sa svojom nevjenčanom partnericom Georginom Rodriguez.

Njegovim putem ovog ljeta su krenule i mnoge druge zvijezde koje su dobile "ponudu koja se ne odbija", a među njima se našao i naš Marcelo Brozović koji će za tri godine boravka u Ronaldovom Al Nassru uprihoditi 100 milijuna eura.

Svi ti transferi, nad kojima se fanovi, ali i mnoge važne osobe iz svijeta nogometa, zgražaju, zapravo služe kao svojevrstan test da bismo se preispitali koliki smo zapravo licemjeri.

Osim toga što Saudijci imaju praktički neograničena sredstva za trošenje na nogomet (ali i na sve ostalo) i pokušavaju "umjetno" podići kvalitetu lige te njezinu globalnu privlačnost, problematično je i to što je njihov princ Mohammed bin Salman okrutni autokrat koji je na vlast došao praktički nakon puča te koji ne preza ni pred čim. Sjetite se samo brutalnog ubojstva novinara Jamala Khashoggija... 

No, ta zabrinutost zapadnog svijeta, predsjednika UEFA-e i svih onih fanova koji tvrde da će saudijsko "hakiranje" tržišta uništiti nogomet jednostavno je licemjerna.

Roman Abramovič davno je "prljavim" novcem preko noći od Chelseaja stvorio supermomčad koja se vinula u sam europski vrh i dugo vremena "maltretirala" druge na tržištu ponudama kojima nitko nije mogao parirati. Već godinama se divimo Manchester Cityju koji je ove sezone osvojio trostruku krunu na krilima sjajnih igrača, genijalnog Pepa Guardiole i beskonačnih milijardi iz trezora vladajuće obitelji Ujedinjenih Arapskih Emirata.

Iz tjedna u tjedan gledamo onaj nakaradni PSG koji se krca ofenzivcima kao da postoji sutra i krši UEFA-in financijski fair play, a onda ne samo da ne uspijeva osvojiti Ligu prvaka, već ponekad ostane i bez domaćeg naslova u ligi u kojoj neke momčadi imaju manji budžet od godišnje plaće Neymara i Kyliana Mbappéa.

Taj nakaradni PSG inače vodi Nasser Al-Khelaifi kao predstavnik katarske vladajuće obitelji. Isti onaj Al-Khelaifi koji je na čelu Europskog udruženja klubova (ECA) i isti onaj Al-Khelaifi koji je veliki prijatelj predsjednika UEFA-e Aleksandera Čeferina. Istog onog Čeferina koji je žestoki kritičar saudijskog shoppinga po Europi.

Mnogi navijaju za Barcelonu, ponos Katalonije, čiji je prvi komercijalni sponzor na dresovima bio Qatar Airways (prije toga im je na prsima stajao UNICEF). Podržavamo "kraljevski" Real Madrid, koji dresovima poziva da se leti aviokompanijom Fly Emirates i svoju službenu opremu na Bliskom istoku prodaje bez križa na svom grbu, kako ne bi uvrijedio tamošnje muslimansko stanovništvo.

Tu je i Bayern München, bavarski klub koji se ne vodi tim trendovima i koji uvijek ostaje vjeran svom identitetu i svojim navijačima. I koji je sve do srpnja ove godine u sklopu sponzorske suradnje uzimao milijune od Qatar Airwaysa.

Vodstvo Premier lige očigledno ne smatra da će ono što rade Saudijci uništiti nogomet, jer su im prije manje od dvije godine dopustili preuzimanje Newcastle Uniteda, na oduševljenje ponosnih navijača sa sjeveroistoka Engleske koji su napokon dočekali da im klub bude među samom elitom. Kako su do toga došli, manje je važno. Jer, tko te danas to uopće pita? Zamaraju li se braća Noel i Liam Gallagher kako je njihov City postao jedan od najvećih klubova na svijetu dok slave trostruku krunu? Naravno da nisu. Dapače, toliko su dobre volje da izgleda kako su zakopali ratnu sjekiru i ponovno aktiviraju Oasis.

U cijeloj priči ne trebamo zanemariti ni sve ove američke biznismene koji svoje klubove tretiraju kao igračke koje im usto donose profit, ali ni one kineske tajkune koji dođu u klub s "vrećom novca" pa se onda nakon početne euforije sjete da im se ipak ne ulaže baš toliko. I oni su se ne tako davno razbacivali milijardama, ali je u međuvremenu kombinacija krize i novih zakona kojima je cilj bio prekinuti tu besmislenu praksu upropastila nekolicinu klubova i vratila ligu natrag u opskurnost.

Saudijska ofenziva na tržištu igrača zapravo je samo etapa u procesu koji traje već desetljećima, drugim riječima u pitanju nije ništa novo, samo se ovaj put možda događa prebrzo da bismo to prihvatili kao što prihvaćamo druge stvari. Zato je ovaj "sportswashing" na steroidima najbolji test da svatko od nas stane, razmisli i zapita se: „Koliki sam zapravo licemjer?”

Gotovo da nema nogometne zvijezde koja ovog ljeta među ponudama nije imala pokoji klub iz Saudijske Arabije. Cristiano Ronaldo već se prošle zime otisnuo put Bliskog istoka, a zauzvrat je dobio 200 milijuna dolara godišnje i sve što mu treba, a tamošnje vlasti su čak i zanemarile zakon kako bi Portugalac mogao živjeti sa svojom nevjenčanom partnericom Georginom Rodriguez.

Njegovim putem ovog ljeta su krenule i mnoge druge zvijezde koje su dobile "ponudu koja se ne odbija", a među njima se našao i naš Marcelo Brozović koji će za tri godine boravka u Ronaldovom Al Nassru uprihoditi 100 milijuna eura.

Svi ti transferi, nad kojima se fanovi, ali i mnoge važne osobe iz svijeta nogometa, zgražaju, zapravo služe kao svojevrstan test da bismo se preispitali koliki smo zapravo licemjeri.

Osim toga što Saudijci imaju praktički neograničena sredstva za trošenje na nogomet (ali i na sve ostalo) i pokušavaju "umjetno" podići kvalitetu lige te njezinu globalnu privlačnost, problematično je i to što je njihov princ Mohammed bin Salman okrutni autokrat koji je na vlast došao praktički nakon puča te koji ne preza ni pred čim. Sjetite se samo brutalnog ubojstva novinara Jamala Khashoggija... 

No, ta zabrinutost zapadnog svijeta, predsjednika UEFA-e i svih onih fanova koji tvrde da će saudijsko "hakiranje" tržišta uništiti nogomet jednostavno je licemjerna.

Roman Abramovič davno je "prljavim" novcem preko noći od Chelseaja stvorio supermomčad koja se vinula u sam europski vrh i dugo vremena "maltretirala" druge na tržištu ponudama kojima nitko nije mogao parirati. Već godinama se divimo Manchester Cityju koji je ove sezone osvojio trostruku krunu na krilima sjajnih igrača, genijalnog Pepa Guardiole i beskonačnih milijardi iz trezora vladajuće obitelji Ujedinjenih Arapskih Emirata.

Iz tjedna u tjedan gledamo onaj nakaradni PSG koji se krca ofenzivcima kao da postoji sutra i krši UEFA-in financijski fair play, a onda ne samo da ne uspijeva osvojiti Ligu prvaka, već ponekad ostane i bez domaćeg naslova u ligi u kojoj neke momčadi imaju manji budžet od godišnje plaće Neymara i Kyliana Mbappéa.

Taj nakaradni PSG inače vodi Nasser Al-Khelaifi kao predstavnik katarske vladajuće obitelji. Isti onaj Al-Khelaifi koji je na čelu Europskog udruženja klubova (ECA) i isti onaj Al-Khelaifi koji je veliki prijatelj predsjednika UEFA-e Aleksandera Čeferina. Istog onog Čeferina koji je žestoki kritičar saudijskog shoppinga po Europi.

Mnogi navijaju za Barcelonu, ponos Katalonije, čiji je prvi komercijalni sponzor na dresovima bio Qatar Airways (prije toga im je na prsima stajao UNICEF). Podržavamo "kraljevski" Real Madrid, koji dresovima poziva da se leti aviokompanijom Fly Emirates i svoju službenu opremu na Bliskom istoku prodaje bez križa na svom grbu, kako ne bi uvrijedio tamošnje muslimansko stanovništvo.

Tu je i Bayern München, bavarski klub koji se ne vodi tim trendovima i koji uvijek ostaje vjeran svom identitetu i svojim navijačima. I koji je sve do srpnja ove godine u sklopu sponzorske suradnje uzimao milijune od Qatar Airwaysa.

Vodstvo Premier lige očigledno ne smatra da će ono što rade Saudijci uništiti nogomet, jer su im prije manje od dvije godine dopustili preuzimanje Newcastle Uniteda, na oduševljenje ponosnih navijača sa sjeveroistoka Engleske koji su napokon dočekali da im klub bude među samom elitom. Kako su do toga došli, manje je važno. Jer, tko te danas to uopće pita? Zamaraju li se braća Noel i Liam Gallagher kako je njihov City postao jedan od najvećih klubova na svijetu dok slave trostruku krunu? Naravno da nisu. Dapače, toliko su dobre volje da izgleda kako su zakopali ratnu sjekiru i ponovno aktiviraju Oasis.

U cijeloj priči ne trebamo zanemariti ni sve ove američke biznismene koji svoje klubove tretiraju kao igračke koje im usto donose profit, ali ni one kineske tajkune koji dođu u klub s "vrećom novca" pa se onda nakon početne euforije sjete da im se ipak ne ulaže baš toliko. I oni su se ne tako davno razbacivali milijardama, ali je u međuvremenu kombinacija krize i novih zakona kojima je cilj bio prekinuti tu besmislenu praksu upropastila nekolicinu klubova i vratila ligu natrag u opskurnost.

Saudijska ofenziva na tržištu igrača zapravo je samo etapa u procesu koji traje već desetljećima, drugim riječima u pitanju nije ništa novo, samo se ovaj put možda događa prebrzo da bismo to prihvatili kao što prihvaćamo druge stvari. Zato je ovaj "sportswashing" na steroidima najbolji test da svatko od nas stane, razmisli i zapita se: „Koliki sam zapravo licemjer?”
