"Premier League Stories", serijal posvećen raznim događanjima iz najbogatije lige svijeta, ovoga tjedna prikazao je emisiju posvećenu hrvatskim igračima u engleskom nogometu. Kao sugovornik u emisiji gostovao je Harry Redknapp, čovjek koji ima najviše iskustva o spomenutoj temi. U jednom segmentu emisije Redknapp je govorio o Modrićevoj prilagodbi na engleski nogomet dok je bio njegov trener u Tottenhamu, pišu Sportske novosti.

- Došao je ovdje i ljudi su počeli sumnjati može li on uopće igrati u Engleskoj. Kada sam došao u Tottenham, igrao je na lijevoj strani, a ja sam ga odlučio pomaknuti u sredinu. Dio trenera koji su me dočekali u Tottenhamu su mi rekli: ‘Harry, ne možeš ga staviti ondje. Nije dovoljno jak, ‘ubit‘ će ga - započeo je Redknapp.

Osobito je spomenuo dvoboj Tottenhama i Chelseaja, koji je tada imao snažnu veznu liniju.

- Imali smo utakmicu s Chelseajem i sjećam se da su u mom stožeru bili protiv toga. Upozorili su me da oni imaju Essiena, Lamparda i Ballacka te da će oni biti presnažni za Luku. Rekao sam im: ‘Ne, neće biti prejaki za Luku.‘ Igrao je u sredini, ispalo je fantastično i nikad više nije ni zaigrao na drugoj poziciji, je li tako?

Riječi hvale za svog bivšeg trenera imao je i kapetan Vatrenih.

- Mogu samo reći lijepe stvari o Harryju. Sjajan je trener, ali najviše me impresioniralo kakva je osoba - fenomenalan je čovjek. Puno mi je pomagao u Tottenhamu dok nisam otišao. Zauvijek sam zahvalan na tome i imam lijepe uspomene na rad s njim. Naravno da pomaže kad imaš nekog tko zaista vjeruje u tebe i tko vidi tvoj potencijal. Trebalo mi je to, pogotovo nakon lošijeg starta u Engleskoj - rekao je Modrić i nastavio:

- San mi je bio igrati u Italiji ili Španjolskoj. Nama je bilo teško uspjeti u Engleskoj jer nije puno Hrvata igralo ondje. Ipak, dolazak u Tottenham bio je prava odluka. Da sam pisao scenarij kako će se moja karijera razviti, ne bih ga mogao napisati bolje nego kako je zaista ispalo.

"Premier League Stories", serijal posvećen raznim događanjima iz najbogatije lige svijeta, ovoga tjedna prikazao je emisiju posvećenu hrvatskim igračima u engleskom nogometu. Kao sugovornik u emisiji gostovao je Harry Redknapp, čovjek koji ima najviše iskustva o spomenutoj temi. U jednom segmentu emisije Redknapp je govorio o Modrićevoj prilagodbi na engleski nogomet dok je bio njegov trener u Tottenhamu, pišu Sportske novosti.

- Došao je ovdje i ljudi su počeli sumnjati može li on uopće igrati u Engleskoj. Kada sam došao u Tottenham, igrao je na lijevoj strani, a ja sam ga odlučio pomaknuti u sredinu. Dio trenera koji su me dočekali u Tottenhamu su mi rekli: ‘Harry, ne možeš ga staviti ondje. Nije dovoljno jak, ‘ubit‘ će ga - započeo je Redknapp.

Osobito je spomenuo dvoboj Tottenhama i Chelseaja, koji je tada imao snažnu veznu liniju.

- Imali smo utakmicu s Chelseajem i sjećam se da su u mom stožeru bili protiv toga. Upozorili su me da oni imaju Essiena, Lamparda i Ballacka te da će oni biti presnažni za Luku. Rekao sam im: ‘Ne, neće biti prejaki za Luku.‘ Igrao je u sredini, ispalo je fantastično i nikad više nije ni zaigrao na drugoj poziciji, je li tako?

Riječi hvale za svog bivšeg trenera imao je i kapetan Vatrenih.

- Mogu samo reći lijepe stvari o Harryju. Sjajan je trener, ali najviše me impresioniralo kakva je osoba - fenomenalan je čovjek. Puno mi je pomagao u Tottenhamu dok nisam otišao. Zauvijek sam zahvalan na tome i imam lijepe uspomene na rad s njim. Naravno da pomaže kad imaš nekog tko zaista vjeruje u tebe i tko vidi tvoj potencijal. Trebalo mi je to, pogotovo nakon lošijeg starta u Engleskoj - rekao je Modrić i nastavio:

- San mi je bio igrati u Italiji ili Španjolskoj. Nama je bilo teško uspjeti u Engleskoj jer nije puno Hrvata igralo ondje. Ipak, dolazak u Tottenham bio je prava odluka. Da sam pisao scenarij kako će se moja karijera razviti, ne bih ga mogao napisati bolje nego kako je zaista ispalo.

Modrićev bivši trener prisjetio se zajedničkih dana u Engleskoj: ‘Rekli su da će ga ‘ubiti‘...‘

"Premier League Stories", serijal posvećen raznim događanjima iz najbogatije lige svijeta, ovoga tjedna prikazao je emisiju posvećenu hrvatskim igračima u engleskom nogometu. Kao sugovornik u emisiji gostovao je Harry Redknapp, čovjek koji ima najviše iskustva o spomenutoj temi. U jednom segmentu emisije Redknapp je govorio o Modrićevoj prilagodbi na engleski nogomet dok je bio njegov trener u Tottenhamu, pišu Sportske novosti.

- Došao je ovdje i ljudi su počeli sumnjati može li on uopće igrati u Engleskoj. Kada sam došao u Tottenham, igrao je na lijevoj strani, a ja sam ga odlučio pomaknuti u sredinu. Dio trenera koji su me dočekali u Tottenhamu su mi rekli: ‘Harry, ne možeš ga staviti ondje. Nije dovoljno jak, ‘ubit‘ će ga - započeo je Redknapp.

Osobito je spomenuo dvoboj Tottenhama i Chelseaja, koji je tada imao snažnu veznu liniju.

- Imali smo utakmicu s Chelseajem i sjećam se da su u mom stožeru bili protiv toga. Upozorili su me da oni imaju Essiena, Lamparda i Ballacka te da će oni biti presnažni za Luku. Rekao sam im: ‘Ne, neće biti prejaki za Luku.‘ Igrao je u sredini, ispalo je fantastično i nikad više nije ni zaigrao na drugoj poziciji, je li tako?

Riječi hvale za svog bivšeg trenera imao je i kapetan Vatrenih.

- Mogu samo reći lijepe stvari o Harryju. Sjajan je trener, ali najviše me impresioniralo kakva je osoba - fenomenalan je čovjek. Puno mi je pomagao u Tottenhamu dok nisam otišao. Zauvijek sam zahvalan na tome i imam lijepe uspomene na rad s njim. Naravno da pomaže kad imaš nekog tko zaista vjeruje u tebe i tko vidi tvoj potencijal. Trebalo mi je to, pogotovo nakon lošijeg starta u Engleskoj - rekao je Modrić i nastavio:
