Laureat Sportskog imena Dalmacije za 2023. godinu Tonči Stipanović od nedjelje do petka u Ateni će loviti rekordnu šestu krunu europskog prvaka u klasi ILCA 7. Upravo osvajanjem petog naslova u talijanskoj Andori prošle godine zaslužio je priznanje za najboljeg dalmatinskog sportaša u tradicionalnom izboru Slobodne Dalmacije, u olimpijskoj godini ta titula vjerojatno neće biti dovoljna, ali želja mu je odvojiti se od surekordera, Britanca Paula Goodisona. Stipanović je prvak Europe bio 2010. (Tallinn), 2011. (Helsinki), 2013. (Dun Laoghaire), 2014. (Split) i nakon čak devet godina pauze u spomenutoj Andori. U klasi ILCA 7 (bivši Laser) europska prvenstva se jedre od 1974. godine, a klasa je postala olimpijska u Atlanti 1996. godine.

Pamti se i povijesni rezultat iz Italije za Jedriličarski klub Mornar, jer su na postolju do Stipanovića stajali srebrni Filip Jurišić i brončani Pavlos Kontides. Takav se rezultat u Ateni neće ponoviti, Jurišića i Kontidesa neće biti, preskočit će Europsko prvenstvo koncentrirajući se na – Olimpijske igre. S time da je Kontides siguran da će predstavljati Cipar, a Jurišić će u francuskom Hyeresu krajem travnja nastojati obraniti svoju veliku prednost u dvoboju sa Stipanovićem, te tako izboriti svoj prvi nastup na Olimpijskim igrama. Stipanović je, podsjetimo, dvostruki srebrni olimpijac (Rio de Janeiro, Tokio), dok je u debiju u Londonu 2012. godine bio četvrti.

Kako između završetka Svjetskog prvenstva u Adelaideu i početka Europskog prvenstva u Ateni nema niti tri tjedna razmaka, Jurišić i Kontides nisu iznimka u preskakanju kontinentalnog natjecanja, pa će s te strane Stipanoviću možda biti lakše doći do zlata. Doduše, imat će hendikep što slabo poznaje regatno polje, u glavni grad Grčke stigao je prije tek četiri dana.

- Istina je da je razmak između ova dva prvenstva prekratak i sigurno je da ne bih bio u Ateni da nije te želje za šestom titulom s kojom bih se odvojio od Goodisona. Dolazak u Atenu vjerojatno nije niti najpametniji s obzirom na kvalifikacije između mene i Filipa za nastup na Olimpijskim igrama, ali jednostavno nisam mogao odoljeti ovom izazovu – rekao je 37-godišnji Splićanin, kome je ova godina vjerojatno oproštajna u klasi ILCA 7.

Tako nešto je, uostalom, najavio primajući nagradu za najboljeg sportaša Dalmacije u Hrvatskom domu prije desetak dana.

I jedriličarke u klasi ILCA 6 su u Ateni na svom Europskom prvenstvu, bit će i šest Hrvatica od kojih će prije svih Elena Vorobjeva i Sandra Lulić pokušati uzeti jednu od dvije olimpijske norme. Europske države su bukirale već 17 normi, Vorobjeva i Lulić su propuštale prilike na posljednja dva Svjetska prvenstva (Scheveningen i Buenos Aires), a u konkurenciji jedriličarki iz još 13 država sada bi doista bilo malo čudo kad bi zakazale. No, kako su jedrile u Nizozemskoj i Argentini, ipak ćemo pričekati.

Laureat Sportskog imena Dalmacije za 2023. godinu Tonči Stipanović od nedjelje do petka u Ateni će loviti rekordnu šestu krunu europskog prvaka u klasi ILCA 7. Upravo osvajanjem petog naslova u talijanskoj Andori prošle godine zaslužio je priznanje za najboljeg dalmatinskog sportaša u tradicionalnom izboru Slobodne Dalmacije, u olimpijskoj godini ta titula vjerojatno neće biti dovoljna, ali želja mu je odvojiti se od surekordera, Britanca Paula Goodisona. Stipanović je prvak Europe bio 2010. (Tallinn), 2011. (Helsinki), 2013. (Dun Laoghaire), 2014. (Split) i nakon čak devet godina pauze u spomenutoj Andori. U klasi ILCA 7 (bivši Laser) europska prvenstva se jedre od 1974. godine, a klasa je postala olimpijska u Atlanti 1996. godine.

Pamti se i povijesni rezultat iz Italije za Jedriličarski klub Mornar, jer su na postolju do Stipanovića stajali srebrni Filip Jurišić i brončani Pavlos Kontides. Takav se rezultat u Ateni neće ponoviti, Jurišića i Kontidesa neće biti, preskočit će Europsko prvenstvo koncentrirajući se na – Olimpijske igre. S time da je Kontides siguran da će predstavljati Cipar, a Jurišić će u francuskom Hyeresu krajem travnja nastojati obraniti svoju veliku prednost u dvoboju sa Stipanovićem, te tako izboriti svoj prvi nastup na Olimpijskim igrama. Stipanović je, podsjetimo, dvostruki srebrni olimpijac (Rio de Janeiro, Tokio), dok je u debiju u Londonu 2012. godine bio četvrti.

Kako između završetka Svjetskog prvenstva u Adelaideu i početka Europskog prvenstva u Ateni nema niti tri tjedna razmaka, Jurišić i Kontides nisu iznimka u preskakanju kontinentalnog natjecanja, pa će s te strane Stipanoviću možda biti lakše doći do zlata. Doduše, imat će hendikep što slabo poznaje regatno polje, u glavni grad Grčke stigao je prije tek četiri dana.

- Istina je da je razmak između ova dva prvenstva prekratak i sigurno je da ne bih bio u Ateni da nije te želje za šestom titulom s kojom bih se odvojio od Goodisona. Dolazak u Atenu vjerojatno nije niti najpametniji s obzirom na kvalifikacije između mene i Filipa za nastup na Olimpijskim igrama, ali jednostavno nisam mogao odoljeti ovom izazovu – rekao je 37-godišnji Splićanin, kome je ova godina vjerojatno oproštajna u klasi ILCA 7.

Tako nešto je, uostalom, najavio primajući nagradu za najboljeg sportaša Dalmacije u Hrvatskom domu prije desetak dana.

I jedriličarke u klasi ILCA 6 su u Ateni na svom Europskom prvenstvu, bit će i šest Hrvatica od kojih će prije svih Elena Vorobjeva i Sandra Lulić pokušati uzeti jednu od dvije olimpijske norme. Europske države su bukirale već 17 normi, Vorobjeva i Lulić su propuštale prilike na posljednja dva Svjetska prvenstva (Scheveningen i Buenos Aires), a u konkurenciji jedriličarki iz još 13 država sada bi doista bilo malo čudo kad bi zakazale. No, kako su jedrile u Nizozemskoj i Argentini, ipak ćemo pričekati.

Tonči Stipanović u Ateni jedri za rekordno šesto europsko zlato

Laureat Sportskog imena Dalmacije za 2023. godinu Tonči Stipanović od nedjelje do petka u Ateni će loviti rekordnu šestu krunu europskog prvaka u klasi ILCA 7. Upravo osvajanjem petog naslova u talijanskoj Andori prošle godine zaslužio je priznanje za najboljeg dalmatinskog sportaša u tradicionalnom izboru Slobodne Dalmacije, u olimpijskoj godini ta titula vjerojatno neće biti dovoljna, ali želja mu je odvojiti se od surekordera, Britanca Paula Goodisona. Stipanović je prvak Europe bio 2010. (Tallinn), 2011. (Helsinki), 2013. (Dun Laoghaire), 2014. (Split) i nakon čak devet godina pauze u spomenutoj Andori. U klasi ILCA 7 (bivši Laser) europska prvenstva se jedre od 1974. godine, a klasa je postala olimpijska u Atlanti 1996. godine.

Pamti se i povijesni rezultat iz Italije za Jedriličarski klub Mornar, jer su na postolju do Stipanovića stajali srebrni Filip Jurišić i brončani Pavlos Kontides. Takav se rezultat u Ateni neće ponoviti, Jurišića i Kontidesa neće biti, preskočit će Europsko prvenstvo koncentrirajući se na – Olimpijske igre. S time da je Kontides siguran da će predstavljati Cipar, a Jurišić će u francuskom Hyeresu krajem travnja nastojati obraniti svoju veliku prednost u dvoboju sa Stipanovićem, te tako izboriti svoj prvi nastup na Olimpijskim igrama. Stipanović je, podsjetimo, dvostruki srebrni olimpijac (Rio de Janeiro, Tokio), dok je u debiju u Londonu 2012. godine bio četvrti.

Kako između završetka Svjetskog prvenstva u Adelaideu i početka Europskog prvenstva u Ateni nema niti tri tjedna razmaka, Jurišić i Kontides nisu iznimka u preskakanju kontinentalnog natjecanja, pa će s te strane Stipanoviću možda biti lakše doći do zlata. Doduše, imat će hendikep što slabo poznaje regatno polje, u glavni grad Grčke stigao je prije tek četiri dana.

- Istina je da je razmak između ova dva prvenstva prekratak i sigurno je da ne bih bio u Ateni da nije te želje za šestom titulom s kojom bih se odvojio od Goodisona. Dolazak u Atenu vjerojatno nije niti najpametniji s obzirom na kvalifikacije između mene i Filipa za nastup na Olimpijskim igrama, ali jednostavno nisam mogao odoljeti ovom izazovu – rekao je 37-godišnji Splićanin, kome je ova godina vjerojatno oproštajna u klasi ILCA 7.

Tako nešto je, uostalom, najavio primajući nagradu za najboljeg sportaša Dalmacije u Hrvatskom domu prije desetak dana.
