U svom premijernom nastupu na Paraolimpijskim igrama Denis Slunjski je osvojio sedmo mjesto u bacanju kugle u kategoriji sportaša patuljastog rasta.

Slunjski, koji je član zagrebačkog atletskog kluba Agram, čak tri puta je bacio više od svog osobnog rekorda, a najdulji hitac je bio 9.83 metara što je za 35 centimetara bolje od dosadašnjeg rekorda.

Prvo mjesto je osvojio Grk Paschalis Stathelakos s rezultatom 11.75 što je novi svjetski rekord, drugi je bio Nijemac Mathias Mester (11.16), dok je broncu osvojio Alžirac Hocine Gherzouli (11.08). I u ovoj disciplini je uložen protest jer je Grk navodno viši od dozvoljenih 145 centimetara.

"Zadovoljan sma, ali samo očekivao bolje. Nadao sam se plasmanu među prvih pet," kazao je ovaj 21-godišnjak iz Zagreba.

Sljunjski se atletikom počeo baviti prije dvije godine i do sada je najveći uspjeh ostvario na Svjetskom prvenstvu gdje je osvojio osmo mjesto.

"Bavim se bacanjem kugle od 2006. godine i sasvim sigurno biti će bolje u Londonu," zaključio je Slunjski.

U svom premijernom nastupu na Paraolimpijskim igrama Denis Slunjski je osvojio sedmo mjesto u bacanju kugle u kategoriji sportaša patuljastog rasta.

Slunjski, koji je član zagrebačkog atletskog kluba Agram, čak tri puta je bacio više od svog osobnog rekorda, a najdulji hitac je bio 9.83 metara što je za 35 centimetara bolje od dosadašnjeg rekorda.

Prvo mjesto je osvojio Grk Paschalis Stathelakos s rezultatom 11.75 što je novi svjetski rekord, drugi je bio Nijemac Mathias Mester (11.16), dok je broncu osvojio Alžirac Hocine Gherzouli (11.08). I u ovoj disciplini je uložen protest jer je Grk navodno viši od dozvoljenih 145 centimetara.

"Zadovoljan sma, ali samo očekivao bolje. Nadao sam se plasmanu među prvih pet," kazao je ovaj 21-godišnjak iz Zagreba.

Sljunjski se atletikom počeo baviti prije dvije godine i do sada je najveći uspjeh ostvario na Svjetskom prvenstvu gdje je osvojio osmo mjesto.

"Bavim se bacanjem kugle od 2006. godine i sasvim sigurno biti će bolje u Londonu," zaključio je Slunjski.

U svom premijernom nastupu na Paraolimpijskim igrama Denis Slunjski je osvojio sedmo mjesto u bacanju kugle u kategoriji sportaša patuljastog rasta.
