Ne prestaju kritike brojnih svjetskih atletičara nakon što se Svjetska atletska federacija (World Athletic) odlučila na eksperiment u skok u dalj na nedavnom mitingu Dijamantne lige u Stockholmu.

Naime, u Stockholmu je primjenjen nešto drugačiji format natjecanja prema kojem su trojica najboljih nakon pet serija imali još jedan pokušaj prema kojem se određivao konačan redoslijed.

Pobjeda je na koncu pripala Južnoafrikancu Ruswahlu Samaai koji je u šestoj seriji skočio 8.09 m, iako je Šveđanin Thobias Montler imao najduži skok natjecanja (8.13 m) koji je izveo u drugoj seriji. Dodajmo kako je aktualni prvak Hrvatske u skoku u dalj, 20-godišnji Kninjanin Marko Čeko, u Stockholmu osvojio peto mjesto u svom debitantskom nastupu na mitingu Dijamantne lige s rezultatom 7.84 m.

- Zadovoljan sam sa četiri skoka preko osam metara, ali nisam baš zadovoljan sustavom natjecanja - naglasio je pobjednik Samaai.

- Pobijedio sam na natjecanju na temelju formata, a ne po dužini skoka, što nije pošteno. Naš sport je jednostavan. Tko skoči najdalje, pobjeđuje, ali ne i ovoga puta. Za 8.13 m dobivate drugo mjesto, a 8.09 m pobjeđuje - dodao je brončani sa svjetskog prvenstva u Londonu.

- Ovo nije cirkus ili sajam. To ne donosi uzbuđenje, samo razočaranje. Možemo li prestati popravljati stvari koje nisu pokvarene ? - pitao je Samaai.

Slično je bilo i kod djevojaka. Prvo mjesto osvojila je Ukrajinka Marina Beh-Romančuk koja je u zadnjoj seriji skočila 6.85 metara, druga je bila Kolumbijka Caterine Ibarguen sa 6.61, a treća Šveđanka Khaddi Sagnia sa 5.73 m, premda je u drugoj seriji skočila 6.83.

- Nadam se kako ovaj format neće potrajati - kazala je svjetska prvakinja Jamajčanka Tajay Gayle.

- Moglo bi se dogoditi da, primjerice zadnju seriju izborim sa skokom od 8.05 m, a potom u zadnjoj seriji netko pobijedi sa 7.01. To nema logike,

- Prilično sam sigurna da se takvo pravilo više neće koristiti jer to niti jedan skakač neće prihvatiti - dodala je.

Oglasila se i troskakačica Kimberly Williams, prvakinja Commonwealth Igara i višestruka finalistkinja Olimpijskih igara i Svjetskih prvenstava.

- Zaista se nadam da je ovo posljednji put da to radite. Kako je moguće da najdalji skok u danu više ne donosi pobjedu ? - pitala je Jamajčanka.

Ovakav format natjecanja kritizirali su i olimpijski pobjednik i svjetski prvak u troskoku Amerikanac Christian Taylor, bivša olimpijska pobjednica u skok u dalj Amerikanka Brittney Reese, te mnogi drugi.

Izvršni direktor Diamond League, Petr Stastny, kazao je sredinom kolovoza kako je pandemija koronavirusa stvorila pravu priliku da se malo "eksperimentira".

- Ovaj će format vjerojatno nagraditi sportaše koji se bolje nose s najintenzivnijim pritiskom. Smatramo da će to donijeti više drame na atletskim natjecanjima jer ništa neće biti odlučeno do posljednjeg nastupa - rekao je Stastny.

Ne prestaju kritike brojnih svjetskih atletičara nakon što se Svjetska atletska federacija (World Athletic) odlučila na eksperiment u skok u dalj na nedavnom mitingu Dijamantne lige u Stockholmu.

Naime, u Stockholmu je primjenjen nešto drugačiji format natjecanja prema kojem su trojica najboljih nakon pet serija imali još jedan pokušaj prema kojem se određivao konačan redoslijed.

Pobjeda je na koncu pripala Južnoafrikancu Ruswahlu Samaai koji je u šestoj seriji skočio 8.09 m, iako je Šveđanin Thobias Montler imao najduži skok natjecanja (8.13 m) koji je izveo u drugoj seriji. Dodajmo kako je aktualni prvak Hrvatske u skoku u dalj, 20-godišnji Kninjanin Marko Čeko, u Stockholmu osvojio peto mjesto u svom debitantskom nastupu na mitingu Dijamantne lige s rezultatom 7.84 m.

- Zadovoljan sam sa četiri skoka preko osam metara, ali nisam baš zadovoljan sustavom natjecanja - naglasio je pobjednik Samaai.

- Pobijedio sam na natjecanju na temelju formata, a ne po dužini skoka, što nije pošteno. Naš sport je jednostavan. Tko skoči najdalje, pobjeđuje, ali ne i ovoga puta. Za 8.13 m dobivate drugo mjesto, a 8.09 m pobjeđuje - dodao je brončani sa svjetskog prvenstva u Londonu.

- Ovo nije cirkus ili sajam. To ne donosi uzbuđenje, samo razočaranje. Možemo li prestati popravljati stvari koje nisu pokvarene ? - pitao je Samaai.

Slično je bilo i kod djevojaka. Prvo mjesto osvojila je Ukrajinka Marina Beh-Romančuk koja je u zadnjoj seriji skočila 6.85 metara, druga je bila Kolumbijka Caterine Ibarguen sa 6.61, a treća Šveđanka Khaddi Sagnia sa 5.73 m, premda je u drugoj seriji skočila 6.83.

- Nadam se kako ovaj format neće potrajati - kazala je svjetska prvakinja Jamajčanka Tajay Gayle.

- Moglo bi se dogoditi da, primjerice zadnju seriju izborim sa skokom od 8.05 m, a potom u zadnjoj seriji netko pobijedi sa 7.01. To nema logike,

- Prilično sam sigurna da se takvo pravilo više neće koristiti jer to niti jedan skakač neće prihvatiti - dodala je.

Oglasila se i troskakačica Kimberly Williams, prvakinja Commonwealth Igara i višestruka finalistkinja Olimpijskih igara i Svjetskih prvenstava.

- Zaista se nadam da je ovo posljednji put da to radite. Kako je moguće da najdalji skok u danu više ne donosi pobjedu ? - pitala je Jamajčanka.

Ovakav format natjecanja kritizirali su i olimpijski pobjednik i svjetski prvak u troskoku Amerikanac Christian Taylor, bivša olimpijska pobjednica u skok u dalj Amerikanka Brittney Reese, te mnogi drugi.

Izvršni direktor Diamond League, Petr Stastny, kazao je sredinom kolovoza kako je pandemija koronavirusa stvorila pravu priliku da se malo "eksperimentira".

- Ovaj će format vjerojatno nagraditi sportaše koji se bolje nose s najintenzivnijim pritiskom. Smatramo da će to donijeti više drame na atletskim natjecanjima jer ništa neće biti odlučeno do posljednjeg nastupa - rekao je Stastny.

Ne prestaju kritike brojnih svjetskih atletičara nakon što se Svjetska atletska federacija (World Athletic) odlučila na eksperiment u skok u dalj na nedavnom mitingu Dijamantne lige u Stockholmu.

Naime, u Stockholmu je primjenjen nešto drugačiji format natjecanja prema kojem su trojica najboljih nakon pet serija imali još jedan pokušaj prema kojem se određivao konačan redoslijed.

Pobjeda je na koncu pripala Južnoafrikancu Ruswahlu Samaai koji je u šestoj seriji skočio 8.09 m, iako je Šveđanin Thobias Montler imao najduži skok natjecanja (8.13 m) koji je izveo u drugoj seriji. Dodajmo kako je aktualni prvak Hrvatske u skoku u dalj, 20-godišnji Kninjanin Marko Čeko, u Stockholmu osvojio peto mjesto u svom debitantskom nastupu na mitingu Dijamantne lige s rezultatom 7.84 m....
