ASK-ovi bacači kugle Filip Mihaljević i Stipe Žunić najavili su nove pothvate.
Jučerašnji dan bio je prvi Filipov u klubu nakon mnogo godina jer je prethodno boravio i trenirao u Sjedinjenim Američkim Državama i Kataru. Na svom prvom velikom natjecanju 2016. godine, Svjetsko dvoransko prvenstvo u Portlandu, osvojio je broncu s osobnim rekordom od 20.87 metara. Ove godine ‘skinuo’ je hrvatski rekord u Slovenskoj Bistrici bacivši kuglu 21.84 metra.
- Hvala svima što sam danas ovdje. Prvi dio nam je završio, cijelo vrijeme smo bili na pripremama, što u Americi, što u Medulinu. Drago mi je da sam ponovo ovdje, želim se fokusirati na svoju karijeru jer sam još mlad i mogu još nekoliko godina biti na vrhunskoj razini – kazao je 24-godišnji Mihaljević.
Svojim uspjehom iznenadio je mnoge, osim vjerojatno onih koji su njegov rad pratili. Njegov ‘najveći’ konkurent nije nitko drugi doli klupski kolega Stipe Žunić.
Žunić je također vlasnik brončane medalje, ali sa Svjetskog otvorenog atletskog prvenstva koje se 2016. godine održalo u Londonu. Izbačajem kugle od 21.46 metar ostvario je uspjeh karijere, dok je prošle godine sa metar slabijim rezultatom osvojio srebro na Mediteranskim igrama u Tarragoni.
- Nisam baš imao sreće u posljednje vrijeme zbog ozljedâ koje su me zadesile uoči većih natjecanja. Sad se dobro osjećam, uhvatio sam formu i spremam se za Svjetsko prvenstvo gdje želim uzeti koju medalju.
Za sada se, kako kaže, ‘čuva’ od natjecanja.
- Neću nigdje nastupati dok stvarno na treningu ne počnem producirati zadovoljavajuće rezultate koje će mi dati određenu sigurnost za veća natjecanja. Moram se stvarno vratiti na svoje ‘daljine’ i strpljivo iščekujem Svjetsko prvenstvo.
Mihaljević neće ‘odmarati’ te je najavio pohode na nova odličja.
- Od idućeg tjedna kreću pripreme za naredna natjecanja. Krajem sedmog mjeseca je prvenstvo države, zatim Hanžekovićev memorijal te ekipno prvenstvo Europe. Tu ću sigurno nastupiti do Svjetskog prvenstva.
Rivalstva između njih dvojice nema, dapače, vlada prijateljska atmosfera.
- Baš je Stipe dvije godine prije mene u Slovenskoj Bistrici ostvario državni rekord i nadam se da će nam sve ovo biti dodatan poticaj da povećamo vlastite rekorde i postignuća. A to je vrlo moguće jer smo ‘tu negdje’, sve je to u 20-30 centimetara – kaže Mihaljević istaknuvši želju da oboje budu u svjetskom vrhu narednih godina.
Na to se Žunić nadovezao sljedećim riječima, pobravši pljesak svih prisutnih.
- Nikad još nismo nastupali zajedno u finalu. Stvarno bi volio da se to dogodi jednom da možemo jedno drugog bodrit i gurat do uspjeha. ∙

ASK-ovi bacači kugle Filip Mihaljević i Stipe Žunić najavili su nove pothvate.
Jučerašnji dan bio je prvi Filipov u klubu nakon mnogo godina jer je prethodno boravio i trenirao u Sjedinjenim Američkim Državama i Kataru. Na svom prvom velikom natjecanju 2016. godine, Svjetsko dvoransko prvenstvo u Portlandu, osvojio je broncu s osobnim rekordom od 20.87 metara. Ove godine ‘skinuo’ je hrvatski rekord u Slovenskoj Bistrici bacivši kuglu 21.84 metra.
- Hvala svima što sam danas ovdje. Prvi dio nam je završio, cijelo vrijeme smo bili na pripremama, što u Americi, što u Medulinu. Drago mi je da sam ponovo ovdje, želim se fokusirati na svoju karijeru jer sam još mlad i mogu još nekoliko godina biti na vrhunskoj razini – kazao je 24-godišnji Mihaljević.
Svojim uspjehom iznenadio je mnoge, osim vjerojatno onih koji su njegov rad pratili. Njegov ‘najveći’ konkurent nije nitko drugi doli klupski kolega Stipe Žunić.
Žunić je također vlasnik brončane medalje, ali sa Svjetskog otvorenog atletskog prvenstva koje se 2016. godine održalo u Londonu. Izbačajem kugle od 21.46 metar ostvario je uspjeh karijere, dok je prošle godine sa metar slabijim rezultatom osvojio srebro na Mediteranskim igrama u Tarragoni.
- Nisam baš imao sreće u posljednje vrijeme zbog ozljedâ koje su me zadesile uoči većih natjecanja. Sad se dobro osjećam, uhvatio sam formu i spremam se za Svjetsko prvenstvo gdje želim uzeti koju medalju.
Za sada se, kako kaže, ‘čuva’ od natjecanja.
- Neću nigdje nastupati dok stvarno na treningu ne počnem producirati zadovoljavajuće rezultate koje će mi dati određenu sigurnost za veća natjecanja. Moram se stvarno vratiti na svoje ‘daljine’ i strpljivo iščekujem Svjetsko prvenstvo.
Mihaljević neće ‘odmarati’ te je najavio pohode na nova odličja.
- Od idućeg tjedna kreću pripreme za naredna natjecanja. Krajem sedmog mjeseca je prvenstvo države, zatim Hanžekovićev memorijal te ekipno prvenstvo Europe. Tu ću sigurno nastupiti do Svjetskog prvenstva.
Rivalstva između njih dvojice nema, dapače, vlada prijateljska atmosfera.
- Baš je Stipe dvije godine prije mene u Slovenskoj Bistrici ostvario državni rekord i nadam se da će nam sve ovo biti dodatan poticaj da povećamo vlastite rekorde i postignuća. A to je vrlo moguće jer smo ‘tu negdje’, sve je to u 20-30 centimetara – kaže Mihaljević istaknuvši želju da oboje budu u svjetskom vrhu narednih godina.
Na to se Žunić nadovezao sljedećim riječima, pobravši pljesak svih prisutnih.
- Nikad još nismo nastupali zajedno u finalu. Stvarno bi volio da se to dogodi jednom da možemo jedno drugog bodrit i gurat do uspjeha. ∙
