Split je u napetom susretu ABA lige poražen od podgoričke Budućnosti sa 75:81. Bila je to neizvjesna utakmica od početka do kraja, prepoznali su i navijači važnost događaja, pa su u velikom broju ispunili dvoranu na Gripama i vatreno bodrili Žute. Split je veliku većinu susreta proveo u vodstvu, iako ono nikada nije doseglo dvoznamenkastu razinu. Gosti su se uspješno držali u prihvatljivom minusu, a onda su prelomili u ključnoj zadnjoj četvrtini. Žuti su u zadnjem dijelu ubacili tek 12 koševa, dok je Budućnost upisala dvostruko više. U redovima domaćina najbolji je bio Sullivan sa 17 koševa, kod gostiju je Wright ubacio 19.

Odlično je Split ušao u susret protiv suparnika koji je pri samom vrhu ABA lige, nošeni su bili ‘žuti‘ snažnom podrškom dobro ispunjene dvorane. Na samom početku, goste iz Podgorice šut nije služio dok je Split zahvaljujući nekoliko uigranih akcija brzo došao do 10:4. Natjeralo je to trenera Žakelja da pozove time-out nakon tek tri i pol minute igre. Nije kratki predah odmah pomogao gostima, Splićanima nije dugo trebalo da prednost povećaju i na devet razlike (15:6 pa 17:8). Bilo je vodstvo plod timske igre, nije se nitko posebno isticao i nadvisio u žutom dresu. No, sjetila se Budućnost ubrzo igrati, vratili su serijom od 9:0 utakmicu u egal. Ipak, je na prvi odmor Split je otišao s prednošću, za to se pobrinuo Perković.

U drugoj četvrtini gosti su došli i do prvog vodstva (21:23), ali utakmica je bila vrlo izjednačena. Igralo se koš za koš, mini-serija za mini-seriju. Najveća prednost u drugoj četvrtini bila je tri razlike za domaćina (37:34). Dosta su se mučile obje momčadi, pogotovo je Split ‘štekao‘ u obrani i dopuštao Budućnosti neke lake koševe. Najbolji na poluvremenu su bili DJ Funderburk i Vuko kod Žutih, Kamenjaš kod Podgoričana, svi s po devet koševa.

Velika borba se nastavila i u drugom poluvremenu, iako je Split za korak bio bolji, brži, spretniji. Dvije trice Perkovića su izazvale erupciju dvorane na Gripama, dok je u nastavku i Shorter s nekoliko odličnih prodora pokazao klasu i završio treću četvrtinu kao najbolji strijelac susreta s 12 koševa.

Odmah na otvaranju zadnjeg dijela Split je sebi posao učinio mnogo težim. Budućnost je u samo dvije minute poništila prednost od šest koševa i došla do izjednačenja. Natjeralo je to trenera Rimca na time-out. Iako su se ‘žuti‘ ubrzo ponovno našli u prednosti, borbi nije bilo kraja. Iskusniji gosti se nisu dali slomiti, a nešto više od minute i pol prije kraja zahvaljujući nekoliko loših reakcija u obrani Splita i kontroverznih sudačkih odluka su došli u vodstvo po prvi put u drugom poluvremenu, koje su i sačuvali do kraja.

Split je ovim porazom došao na rezultat 9:11 u ABA ligi. Nakon ove utakmice slijedi tjedan završnice Kupa Krešimira Ćosića koji će se odigrati na Gripama. Već u srijedu Žuti će igrati četvrtfinalni susret sa Zadrom.

Split je u napetom susretu ABA lige poražen od podgoričke Budućnosti sa 75:81. Bila je to neizvjesna utakmica od početka do kraja, prepoznali su i navijači važnost događaja, pa su u velikom broju ispunili dvoranu na Gripama i vatreno bodrili Žute. Split je veliku većinu susreta proveo u vodstvu, iako ono nikada nije doseglo dvoznamenkastu razinu. Gosti su se uspješno držali u prihvatljivom minusu, a onda su prelomili u ključnoj zadnjoj četvrtini. Žuti su u zadnjem dijelu ubacili tek 12 koševa, dok je Budućnost upisala dvostruko više. U redovima domaćina najbolji je bio Sullivan sa 17 koševa, kod gostiju je Wright ubacio 19.

Odlično je Split ušao u susret protiv suparnika koji je pri samom vrhu ABA lige, nošeni su bili ‘žuti‘ snažnom podrškom dobro ispunjene dvorane. Na samom početku, goste iz Podgorice šut nije služio dok je Split zahvaljujući nekoliko uigranih akcija brzo došao do 10:4. Natjeralo je to trenera Žakelja da pozove time-out nakon tek tri i pol minute igre. Nije kratki predah odmah pomogao gostima, Splićanima nije dugo trebalo da prednost povećaju i na devet razlike (15:6 pa 17:8). Bilo je vodstvo plod timske igre, nije se nitko posebno isticao i nadvisio u žutom dresu. No, sjetila se Budućnost ubrzo igrati, vratili su serijom od 9:0 utakmicu u egal. Ipak, je na prvi odmor Split je otišao s prednošću, za to se pobrinuo Perković.

U drugoj četvrtini gosti su došli i do prvog vodstva (21:23), ali utakmica je bila vrlo izjednačena. Igralo se koš za koš, mini-serija za mini-seriju. Najveća prednost u drugoj četvrtini bila je tri razlike za domaćina (37:34). Dosta su se mučile obje momčadi, pogotovo je Split ‘štekao‘ u obrani i dopuštao Budućnosti neke lake koševe. Najbolji na poluvremenu su bili DJ Funderburk i Vuko kod Žutih, Kamenjaš kod Podgoričana, svi s po devet koševa.

Velika borba se nastavila i u drugom poluvremenu, iako je Split za korak bio bolji, brži, spretniji. Dvije trice Perkovića su izazvale erupciju dvorane na Gripama, dok je u nastavku i Shorter s nekoliko odličnih prodora pokazao klasu i završio treću četvrtinu kao najbolji strijelac susreta s 12 koševa.

Odmah na otvaranju zadnjeg dijela Split je sebi posao učinio mnogo težim. Budućnost je u samo dvije minute poništila prednost od šest koševa i došla do izjednačenja. Natjeralo je to trenera Rimca na time-out. Iako su se ‘žuti‘ ubrzo ponovno našli u prednosti, borbi nije bilo kraja. Iskusniji gosti se nisu dali slomiti, a nešto više od minute i pol prije kraja zahvaljujući nekoliko loših reakcija u obrani Splita i kontroverznih sudačkih odluka su došli u vodstvo po prvi put u drugom poluvremenu, koje su i sačuvali do kraja.

Split je ovim porazom došao na rezultat 9:11 u ABA ligi. Nakon ove utakmice slijedi tjedan završnice Kupa Krešimira Ćosića koji će se odigrati na Gripama. Već u srijedu Žuti će igrati četvrtfinalni susret sa Zadrom.
