Nikad nije bila upitna moja želja da vodim reprezentaciju, ali o toj temi nisam proteklih nekoliko mjeseci mogao razgovarati jer se znaju pravila u španjolskoj ligi, tko ima ugovor s klubom ne može istovremeno biti izbornik reprezentacije. Zbog toga nisam mogao razgovarati s novinarima, zbog toga je ovo moj prvi istup za medije - istaknuo je Jasmin Repeša, hrvatski izbornik u dubrovačkom hotelu Valamar Lacroma na Babinom kuku, dodavši kako je plan priprema napravio prije tri mjeseca.

Na početak priprema, 20. srpnja u Svetom Martinu, trebalo bi doći 16 od 24 igrača sa šireg spiska reprezentacije.

- Jesu li 24 igrača na popisu previše? Da, ali nikad se ne zna hoće li se netko, ne daj Bože, ozlijediti budući da još traje sezona. Opet, netko tko nije na ovom popisu može biti dodan na njega. Što se tiče mog stožera, na sljedećoj konferenciji za novinare ću objaviti imena. Ne bih sada o tome.

Na popisu nema Zorana Planinića, ključnog igrača ruskog Himkija, te Marka Popovića iz Žalgirsa, koji su već ranije najavili kako neće igrati na Eurobasketu u Sloveniji. Jeste li razgovarali s njima, jesu li to njihove konačne odluke?

- Planinić i Popović imaju velike poteškoće. Svaku utakmicu igraju pod inekcijama. Ukoliko bi se oporavili te izrazili želju igrati, to bi bilo super. U ovom trenutku oni nisu u mogućnosti pozitivno odgovoriti zbog ozljeda i umora na ono što će se tražiti od igrača tijekom priprema i na Eurobasketu.

Bojan Bogdanović bi trebao karijeru nastaviti u NBA, ako se to dogodi, hoće li moći pomoći reprezentaciji u Sloveniji?

- Na Eurobasketu će biti 50-ak igrača iz NBA. Ne bi trebalo biti problema s Bogdanovićem.

Kojih 16 igrača će doći na početak priprema 20. srpnja objavit ću tek kad posljednji kandidat za reprezentaciju zaključi sezonu. Potom o Eurobasketu:

- Za uspjeh na Eurobasketu moramo imati jaku momčad, nacionalni naboj, igrače koji žele, hoće i mogu igrati. Pred nama je nikad izjednačenije prvenstvo. Čak 15 reprezentacija dočekuju Eurobasket s mišlju kako će ući u borbu za medalju, ako ne za medalju onda biti među šest najboljih te tako izboriti plasman na Svjetskom prvenstvu. To što neće biti u najjačim reprezentacijama nekih od zvijezda, tu vidim i našu priliku. Imam iskustva iz Poljske gdje sam napravio grešku, nisam odabrao igrače koji mogu igrati agresivno u obrani, a sad ću pokušati napraviti reprezentaciju koja je igrati tako. E sad, što bi nas zadovoljilo na EP-u? Ambicije moraju biti velike, takav i pristup. Treba imati kontinuitet nastupa na velikim natjecanjima, dakle, plasirati se na SP. Međutim, rano je o tome govoriti. Moramo prvo napraviti što moramo napraviti, potom vjerujem kako ćemo imati potporu navijača zbog blizine, kako će navijači prepoznati što radimo.

Nikad nije bila upitna moja želja da vodim reprezentaciju, ali o toj temi nisam proteklih nekoliko mjeseci mogao razgovarati jer se znaju pravila u španjolskoj ligi, tko ima ugovor s klubom ne može istovremeno biti izbornik reprezentacije. Zbog toga nisam mogao razgovarati s novinarima, zbog toga je ovo moj prvi istup za medije - istaknuo je Jasmin Repeša, hrvatski izbornik u dubrovačkom hotelu Valamar Lacroma na Babinom kuku, dodavši kako je plan priprema napravio prije tri mjeseca.

Na početak priprema, 20. srpnja u Svetom Martinu, trebalo bi doći 16 od 24 igrača sa šireg spiska reprezentacije.

- Jesu li 24 igrača na popisu previše? Da, ali nikad se ne zna hoće li se netko, ne daj Bože, ozlijediti budući da još traje sezona. Opet, netko tko nije na ovom popisu može biti dodan na njega. Što se tiče mog stožera, na sljedećoj konferenciji za novinare ću objaviti imena. Ne bih sada o tome.

Na popisu nema Zorana Planinića, ključnog igrača ruskog Himkija, te Marka Popovića iz Žalgirsa, koji su već ranije najavili kako neće igrati na Eurobasketu u Sloveniji. Jeste li razgovarali s njima, jesu li to njihove konačne odluke?

- Planinić i Popović imaju velike poteškoće. Svaku utakmicu igraju pod inekcijama. Ukoliko bi se oporavili te izrazili želju igrati, to bi bilo super. U ovom trenutku oni nisu u mogućnosti pozitivno odgovoriti zbog ozljeda i umora na ono što će se tražiti od igrača tijekom priprema i na Eurobasketu.

Bojan Bogdanović bi trebao karijeru nastaviti u NBA, ako se to dogodi, hoće li moći pomoći reprezentaciji u Sloveniji?

- Na Eurobasketu će biti 50-ak igrača iz NBA. Ne bi trebalo biti problema s Bogdanovićem.

Kojih 16 igrača će doći na početak priprema 20. srpnja objavit ću tek kad posljednji kandidat za reprezentaciju zaključi sezonu. Potom o Eurobasketu:

- Za uspjeh na Eurobasketu moramo imati jaku momčad, nacionalni naboj, igrače koji žele, hoće i mogu igrati. Pred nama je nikad izjednačenije prvenstvo. Čak 15 reprezentacija dočekuju Eurobasket s mišlju kako će ući u borbu za medalju, ako ne za medalju onda biti među šest najboljih te tako izboriti plasman na Svjetskom prvenstvu. To što neće biti u najjačim reprezentacijama nekih od zvijezda, tu vidim i našu priliku. Imam iskustva iz Poljske gdje sam napravio grešku, nisam odabrao igrače koji mogu igrati agresivno u obrani, a sad ću pokušati napraviti reprezentaciju koja je igrati tako. E sad, što bi nas zadovoljilo na EP-u? Ambicije moraju biti velike, takav i pristup. Treba imati kontinuitet nastupa na velikim natjecanjima, dakle, plasirati se na SP. Međutim, rano je o tome govoriti. Moramo prvo napraviti što moramo napraviti, potom vjerujem kako ćemo imati potporu navijača zbog blizine, kako će navijači prepoznati što radimo.
