Dubai će sljedeće sezone imati predstavnika u košarkaškoj Eurolige, potvrdio je to izvršni direktor natjecanja Paulius Motiejunas. Iako projekt nije službeno potvrđen, postoji više nego izgledna mogućnost da Dubai do početka sezone formira momčad za najjače klupsko košarkaško natjecanje na Starom kontinentu, dok bi potvrda toga mogla stići već u veljači - pišu Sportske novosti.

- Teško je odrediti vremenski okvir. To je potpuno novo tržište, razgovori su u tijeku. Idemo malim koracima prema naprijed, ali ne znam kada ćemo moći potvrditi je li dogovor sklopljen. Kakve su šanse da Dubai iduće sezone zaigra u Euroligi? Trenutačno, 50-50 - rekao je Motiejunas za BasketNews.

Ujedno, ono što je puno zanimljivije hrvatskim klubovima, s obzirom na to da ih godinama nema u Euroligi, momčad iz Ujedinjenih Arapskih Emirata prema najavama trebala bi postati i nova članica ABA lige, kako bi ispunila sve uvjete i zadržala natjecateljski ritam.

Naravno, glavni adut Dubaija definitivno je financijska strana priče, prema kojoj nudi doprinos od 150 milijuna eura Euroligi u šest godina, što bi koristilo i ostalim klubovima u natjecanju, s obzirom na to da bi u tih pet godina svaki klub dobio po milijun eura godišnje. Osim mjesta u natjecanju, Dubai je, navodno, zahtijevao i organizaciju dva Final Four turnira, što nije naišlo na odobravanje vodstva Eurolige. Uključivanje Dubaija u natjecanje bio bi i marketinški potez vodstva natjecanja prema azijskom tržištu.

Ujedno, ono što je puno zanimljivije hrvatskim klubovima, s obzirom na to da ih godinama nema u Euroligi, momčad iz Ujedinjenih Arapskih Emirata prema najavama trebala bi postati i nova članica ABA lige, kako bi ispunila sve uvjete i zadržala natjecateljski ritam.

Naravno, glavni adut Dubaija definitivno je financijska strana priče, prema kojoj nudi doprinos od 150 milijuna eura Euroligi u šest godina, što bi koristilo i ostalim klubovima u natjecanju, s obzirom na to da bi u tih pet godina svaki klub dobio po milijun eura godišnje. Osim mjesta u natjecanju, Dubai je, navodno, zahtijevao i organizaciju dva Final Four turnira, što nije naišlo na odobravanje vodstva Eurolige. Uključivanje Dubaija u natjecanje bio bi i marketinški potez vodstva natjecanja prema azijskom tržištu.
