Nigdje u Hrvatskoj umjetnici nisu vezani uz povijesni prostor kao u Dioklecijanovoj palači.

Nije u pitanju sterilno akademsko odavanje počasti baštini. Njoj se ovdje pristupa kao živom tkivu s kojim se, nerijetko provokativno, komunicira kroz akcije, performanse i druga događanja. Sredinom “devedesetih”, društvo umjetnika (HULU) izbačeno je iz Krešimirove, ali su dobili na upravljanje Dioklecijanove podrume. U njima se nastavio kontinuitet dijaloga s baštinom započet od Crvenog Peristila.

Iako se u Podrumima zbog vlage ne može izlagati slike ili radove s područja novih medija, ideja da likovnjaci dobiju pola prihoda od ulaznica pokazala se dosta dobra. Sve do sada HULU je bio jedina udruga u kulturi koja je svojih tristotinjak članova mogla servisirati izložbama bez da “žica“ iz gradskog proračuna.

Sad je tome kraj. Podrume dobiva nova gradska tvrtka “Splitska obala”, za koju se ne zna što će raditi s tim novcem. A jasno je da u jadnom gradskom proračunu, koji se puni s tek 15 posto od predviđenoga, likovnjaci nemaju što tražiti.

Pitanje je dana i kad će HULU ostati bez kancelarija u kućici na Rivi, koja je u povratu imovine.

Oduzimanjem prihoda od Podruma likovnjacima, ova gradska vlast izvela je neviđen udar na splitsku likovnu scenu i urbanu kulturu. Umjetnici imaju veće intelektualno, moralno i povijesno pravo na Palaču od Željka Keruma i njegove ekipe koja će preuzeti Podrume. No, kako se izboriti za pravicu tamo gdje vlada pravo jačega? Teško. Ali, šutnja ovaj put nije zlato.

Nigdje u Hrvatskoj umjetnici nisu vezani uz povijesni prostor kao u Dioklecijanovoj palači.

Nije u pitanju sterilno akademsko odavanje počasti baštini. Njoj se ovdje pristupa kao živom tkivu s kojim se, nerijetko provokativno, komunicira kroz akcije, performanse i druga događanja. Sredinom “devedesetih”, društvo umjetnika (HULU) izbačeno je iz Krešimirove, ali su dobili na upravljanje Dioklecijanove podrume. U njima se nastavio kontinuitet dijaloga s baštinom započet od Crvenog Peristila.

Iako se u Podrumima zbog vlage ne može izlagati slike ili radove s područja novih medija, ideja da likovnjaci dobiju pola prihoda od ulaznica pokazala se dosta dobra. Sve do sada HULU je bio jedina udruga u kulturi koja je svojih tristotinjak članova mogla servisirati izložbama bez da “žica“ iz gradskog proračuna.

Sad je tome kraj. Podrume dobiva nova gradska tvrtka “Splitska obala”, za koju se ne zna što će raditi s tim novcem. A jasno je da u jadnom gradskom proračunu, koji se puni s tek 15 posto od predviđenoga, likovnjaci nemaju što tražiti.

Pitanje je dana i kad će HULU ostati bez kancelarija u kućici na Rivi, koja je u povratu imovine.

Oduzimanjem prihoda od Podruma likovnjacima, ova gradska vlast izvela je neviđen udar na splitsku likovnu scenu i urbanu kulturu. Umjetnici imaju veće intelektualno, moralno i povijesno pravo na Palaču od Željka Keruma i njegove ekipe koja će preuzeti Podrume. No, kako se izboriti za pravicu tamo gdje vlada pravo jačega? Teško. Ali, šutnja ovaj put nije zlato.
