Prije dvadesetak godina, Split je uživao u reputaciji južnog Bronxa južne Hrvatske. “Grad slučaj” u međuvremenu je postao “grad stečaj” pa danas više sliči malešnoj replici opustošenoga Detroita.

Ritam najvećega grada u saveznoj državi Michigan dugi niz godina gordo su udarali lokalni metalci zaposleni u moćnoj automobilskoj industriji, i velikani soul glazbe, koji su snimali za diskografsku kuću Motown. A onda je vrag došao po svoje. Masovna publika okrenula se novim muzičkim žanrovima, tvornice su propale, za njima i stotine drugih manjih ili većih tvrtki koje su nekoć servisirale potrebe desetaka tisuća radnika i njihovih obitelji. U očajničkoj potrazi za bilo kakvim poslom, proleteri su se razbježali iz Detroita, koji danas reporteri opisuju kao “grad duhova” te uspoređuju s “ratnom zonom” i “Ground Zerom deindustrijalizacije”.

Što su Detroitu i Americi značili kolosi soula, Splitu i Hrvatskoj bile su vedete lakih nota s Prokurativa. Umjesto pak General Motorsa ili Forda, mi smo u širemu gradskom prstenu imali barem desetak nekoć velikih i važnih tvornica koje su hranile na desetke tisuća ljudi. Festival zabavne glazbe godinama, štoviše desetljećima, ponire sve dublje i već se spustio do takva ponora neukusa da o njemu danas kvalificirano mogu suditi samo vrhunski uvježbani speleolozi. S druge strane, većina tvornica živi samo u uspomenama svojih bivših radnika.

Split, hvala na pitanju, još uvijek ne sliči na grad duhova, dapače, zadnjih se dana na njegovim ulicama može opaziti prilična živost. Toliko je živahno da bi doskora uistinu mogao postati nalik ratnoj zoni - kad se žuč gladnih najamnika u kolabiralim poduzećima izlije na pločnike. Ako su u pravu oni koji tvrde da je Dalmacija bačena na koljena, onda je središnja županija te ljupke regije već potpuno zalegla. I bojim se da je samo pitanje dana kad će novinari svoja izvješća iz Splita početi pisati oslanjajući se na retoriku i fraze reportera iz Detroita.

 PIŠE IVICA IVANIŠEVIĆ
Prije dvadesetak godina, Split je uživao u reputaciji južnog Bronxa južne Hrvatske. “Grad slučaj” u međuvremenu je postao “grad stečaj” pa danas više sliči malešnoj replici opustošenoga Detroita.

Ritam najvećega grada u saveznoj državi Michigan dugi niz godina gordo su udarali lokalni metalci zaposleni u moćnoj automobilskoj industriji, i velikani soul glazbe, koji su snimali za diskografsku kuću Motown. A onda je vrag došao po svoje. Masovna publika okrenula se novim muzičkim žanrovima, tvornice su propale, za njima i stotine drugih manjih ili većih tvrtki koje su nekoć servisirale potrebe desetaka tisuća radnika i njihovih obitelji. U očajničkoj potrazi za bilo kakvim poslom, proleteri su se razbježali iz Detroita, koji danas reporteri opisuju kao “grad duhova” te uspoređuju s “ratnom zonom” i “Ground Zerom deindustrijalizacije”.

Što su Detroitu i Americi značili kolosi soula, Splitu i Hrvatskoj bile su vedete lakih nota s Prokurativa. Umjesto pak General Motorsa ili Forda, mi smo u širemu gradskom prstenu imali barem desetak nekoć velikih i važnih tvornica koje su hranile na desetke tisuća ljudi. Festival zabavne glazbe godinama, štoviše desetljećima, ponire sve dublje i već se spustio do takva ponora neukusa da o njemu danas kvalificirano mogu suditi samo vrhunski uvježbani speleolozi. S druge strane, većina tvornica živi samo u uspomenama svojih bivših radnika.

Split, hvala na pitanju, još uvijek ne sliči na grad duhova, dapače, zadnjih se dana na njegovim ulicama može opaziti prilična živost. Toliko je živahno da bi doskora uistinu mogao postati nalik ratnoj zoni - kad se žuč gladnih najamnika u kolabiralim poduzećima izlije na pločnike. Ako su u pravu oni koji tvrde da je Dalmacija bačena na koljena, onda je središnja županija te ljupke regije već potpuno zalegla. I bojim se da je samo pitanje dana kad će novinari svoja izvješća iz Splita početi pisati oslanjajući se na retoriku i fraze reportera iz Detroita.
