stdClass Object ( [id] => 66825 [title] => Kreira se cjepivo protiv raka prostate [alias] => kreira-se-cjepivo-protiv-raka-prostate [catid] => 264 [published] => 1 [introtext] => [fulltext] => Američki znanstvenici sa Sveučilišta u Utahu i Columbiji utvrdili su povezanost virusa XRMV koji uzrokuje leukemiju i rak kostiju kod životinja s povećanim rizikom pojave agresivnog oblika raka prostate kod muškaraca.

Njihova analiza 200 uzoraka raka prostate je pokazala da je taj virus prisutan u 27 posto slučajeva.
Na temelju tih rezultata smatraju da bi muškarci pravodobnim cijepljenjem mogli spriječiti razvoj bolesti u samom začetku, na isti način kao što se žene cjepivom štite od HPV virusa koji izaziva rak grlića maternice.

Mogla bi to biti revolucija u liječenju ove opake bolesti ako je točna pretpostavka da bi se rak prostate razvio kod svih muškaraca koji požive dovoljno dugo.

Iako se na kreiranju cjepiva već radi, ne treba ga očekivati tako brzo.

Studije su potvrdile da uz genetsku sklonost, životnu dob i lošu prehranu i prisutnost “životinjskog virusa” u organizmu muškarce čini bitno podložnijima obolijevanju od raka prostate.

XRMV je retrovirus, poput HIV-a, a djeluje tako što ubacuje kopiju vlastite DNK u kromosome inficirane stanice. Inače, taj rak je najčešća zloćudan bolest kod muškaraca u zapadnim zemljama, a statistike kažu da obolijeva 5 do 7 posto muškaraca starijih od 50 godina života, dok je 50 posto oboljelih u dobi iznad 70 godina.

Samo u Velikoj Britaniji lani je oboljelo 35.000 ljudi, a i na listi smrtnosti zauzima visoko drugo mjesto odmah iza raka pluća.

Stručnjaci još uvijek nemaju odgovor kako se muškarci zaraze ovim virusom, no pretpostavlja se da je to spolni kontakt.

Mogla bi to biti revolucija u liječenju ove opake bolesti ako je točna pretpostavka da bi se rak prostate razvio kod svih muškaraca koji požive dovoljno dugo.

Iako se na kreiranju cjepiva već radi, ne treba ga očekivati tako brzo.

Studije su potvrdile da uz genetsku sklonost, životnu dob i lošu prehranu i prisutnost “životinjskog virusa” u organizmu muškarce čini bitno podložnijima obolijevanju od raka prostate.

XRMV je retrovirus, poput HIV-a, a djeluje tako što ubacuje kopiju vlastite DNK u kromosome inficirane stanice. Inače, taj rak je najčešća zloćudan bolest kod muškaraca u zapadnim zemljama, a statistike kažu da obolijeva 5 do 7 posto muškaraca starijih od 50 godina života, dok je 50 posto oboljelih u dobi iznad 70 godina.

Samo u Velikoj Britaniji lani je oboljelo 35.000 ljudi, a i na listi smrtnosti zauzima visoko drugo mjesto odmah iza raka pluća.

Stručnjaci još uvijek nemaju odgovor kako se muškarci zaraze ovim virusom, no pretpostavlja se da je to spolni kontakt.

Američki znanstvenici sa Sveučilišta u Utahu i Columbiji utvrdili su povezanost virusa XRMV koji uzrokuje leukemiju i rak kostiju kod životinja s povećanim rizikom pojave agresivnog oblika raka prostate kod muškaraca.
