Solarni automobili možda su impresivni, ali veganska je prehrana od veće dobrobiti za planet – ustvrdila je Leilani Münter, profesionalna američka vozačica utrka i ekološka aktivistkinja, u svojoj nedavnoj kolumni za britanski Guardian.

– Kao profesionalna vozačica utrka, itekako sam svjesna utjecaja koji vožnja ima na planet, stoga više ne radim s kompanijama koje koriste fosilna goriva, a od 2007. godine "usvojila" sam po jedno jutro prašume za svaku utrku koju sam odradila kako bih nadoknadila neizbježnu emisiju štetnih plinova iz mojeg automobila.

No, ma koliko god to činilo razliku, znam da moja veganska prehrana ima još snažniji utjecaj na planet – ustvrdila je ova 42-godišnja vozačica utrka koja je odradila već 33 tisuće milja u svojem električnom automobilu.

Puni ga zahvaljujući sunčevoj energiji, odnosno solarnim panelima na krovu svoje kuće.

Inače, svoje tvrdnje Leilani Münter temelji na podacima koji kažu da se čak jedna trećina ukupne obradive zemlje koristi za uzgoj hrane namijenjen isključivo prehrani stoke. Kad se tome dodaju emisije koje proizvode same životinje, onda se dolazi do računice da uzgoj mesa stvara više stakleničkih plinova nego cijeli sektor transporta.

Usporedbe radi, produkcija govedine čak je 150 puta pogubnija za efekt staklenika u odnosu na, primjerice, uzgoj soje.

I dok se Leilani Münter na ovaj način bori za očuvanje planeta i prava životinja, glumica Pamela Anderson još se jednom skinula da bi podržala vegansku agendu, odnosno bolji, ljepši i suosjećajniji svijet.

Ovaj put se razodjenula za seriju fotografija u Paper Magazineu na kojima nosi tek cipele nastale u suradnji s francuskom dizajnericom Amélie Pichard. Te su cipele izrađene isključivo od veganskih materijala i ne sadrže nikakve toksične sastojke.

Liniju veganskih cipela financirala je upravo Pamela Anderson, a 10 posto sve zarade ići će u Fondaciju "Pamela Anderson", koja prikuplja novac za zaštitu okoliša i prava životinja.

"Svi smo mi arhitekti novog svijeta. Možda i nove religije: voli planet i sva njegova stvorenja", poručila je Anderson za Paper Magazine.

Također, entuzijastična Pamela obratila se i novoizabranom guverneru Louisiane (SAD), koji se našao u ekonomskoj krizi, s prijedlogom kako da iz nje bezbolno iziđe. Budući da je Louisiana "svjetska prijestolnica svih zatvorenika", popularna glumica predložila je da se u zatvore uvede veganska prehrana, čime će se uštedjeti više od pola milijuna dolara godišnje.

Kad bi se uračunala i zdravstvena dobrobit koja bi proizišla iz takve prehrane, uštede bi, naravno, bile još veće.

– Ako izostavite meso s menija 12 državnih zatvora, poreznim obveznicima Louisiane uštedjet ćete 620 tisuća dolara godišnje – poručila je glumica, istaknuvši u svojem pismu guverneru kako veganska prehrana sadrži sve potrebne nutrijente. K tome je izrazila i spremnost da će rado pomoći uvođenju ovog programa u zatvore tako što će i sama kuhati i poslužiti obroke zatvorenicima.

Solarni automobili možda su impresivni, ali veganska je prehrana od veće dobrobiti za planet – ustvrdila je Leilani Münter, profesionalna američka vozačica utrka i ekološka aktivistkinja, u svojoj nedavnoj kolumni za britanski Guardian.

– Kao profesionalna vozačica utrka, itekako sam svjesna utjecaja koji vožnja ima na planet, stoga više ne radim s kompanijama koje koriste fosilna goriva, a od 2007. godine "usvojila" sam po jedno jutro prašume za svaku utrku koju sam odradila kako bih nadoknadila neizbježnu emisiju štetnih plinova iz mojeg automobila.

No, ma koliko god to činilo razliku, znam da moja veganska prehrana ima još snažniji utjecaj na planet – ustvrdila je ova 42-godišnja vozačica utrka koja je odradila već 33 tisuće milja u svojem električnom automobilu.

Puni ga zahvaljujući sunčevoj energiji, odnosno solarnim panelima na krovu svoje kuće.

Inače, svoje tvrdnje Leilani Münter temelji na podacima koji kažu da se čak jedna trećina ukupne obradive zemlje koristi za uzgoj hrane namijenjen isključivo prehrani stoke. Kad se tome dodaju emisije koje proizvode same životinje, onda se dolazi do računice da uzgoj mesa stvara više stakleničkih plinova nego cijeli sektor transporta.

Usporedbe radi, produkcija govedine čak je 150 puta pogubnija za efekt staklenika u odnosu na, primjerice, uzgoj soje.

I dok se Leilani Münter na ovaj način bori za očuvanje planeta i prava životinja, glumica Pamela Anderson još se jednom skinula da bi podržala vegansku agendu, odnosno bolji, ljepši i suosjećajniji svijet.

Ovaj put se razodjenula za seriju fotografija u Paper Magazineu na kojima nosi tek cipele nastale u suradnji s francuskom dizajnericom Amélie Pichard. Te su cipele izrađene isključivo od veganskih materijala i ne sadrže nikakve toksične sastojke.

Liniju veganskih cipela financirala je upravo Pamela Anderson, a 10 posto sve zarade ići će u Fondaciju "Pamela Anderson", koja prikuplja novac za zaštitu okoliša i prava životinja.

"Svi smo mi arhitekti novog svijeta. Možda i nove religije: voli planet i sva njegova stvorenja", poručila je Anderson za Paper Magazine.

Također, entuzijastična Pamela obratila se i novoizabranom guverneru Louisiane (SAD), koji se našao u ekonomskoj krizi, s prijedlogom kako da iz nje bezbolno iziđe. Budući da je Louisiana "svjetska prijestolnica svih zatvorenika", popularna glumica predložila je da se u zatvore uvede veganska prehrana, čime će se uštedjeti više od pola milijuna dolara godišnje.

Kad bi se uračunala i zdravstvena dobrobit koja bi proizišla iz takve prehrane, uštede bi, naravno, bile još veće.

– Ako izostavite meso s menija 12 državnih zatvora, poreznim obveznicima Louisiane uštedjet ćete 620 tisuća dolara godišnje – poručila je glumica, istaknuvši u svojem pismu guverneru kako veganska prehrana sadrži sve potrebne nutrijente. K tome je izrazila i spremnost da će rado pomoći uvođenju ovog programa u zatvore tako što će i sama kuhati i poslužiti obroke zatvorenicima.
