Najdugovječniji pacijent s presađenim srcem, operiran u Engleskoj 1984. godine, ušao je službeno u Guinnessovu knjigu rekorda.
Janssenu je sa 17 godina dijagnosticirana kardiomiopatija, zadebljanje srčanog mišića koje mu onemogućava da pumpa krv po tijelu. Janssenov kardiolog u Nizozemskoj bio je povezan s bolnicom Harefield u Londonu i pionirom transplantacije, profesorom Magdijem Yacoubom, koji je izveo operaciju 6. lipnja 1984. kad je pacijent napunio 18 godina.
U to vrijeme u Nizozemskoj još se nisu presađivala srca. "Sve je išlo vrlo brzo. Samo tjedan dana nakon dolaska u Harefield, dva su srca postala dostupna iz velike prometne nesreće u Londonu", rekao je Janssen.
"Jedno srce se podudaralo i ono je transplantirano. Kao što mi liječnici rekli 30 godina kasnije, mora da je savršeno odgovaralo", rekao je, piše Fenix-magazin.

Janssen je rekao kako mu je novo srce omogućilo da se brzo vrati "kvalitetnom životu". Igrao je tenis i odbojku i radio u punom radnom vremenu. Oženio se Petrom 1996. godine, dobio sinove Guida i Ivu, a danas se čak bavi i parajedriličarstvom.
Njegova je operacija bila 107. takva u Harefieldu. Prvu je izveo Sir Magdi Yacoub 1980. i centar je od tada presadio na tisuće srca.
Dr. Fernando Riesgo Gil, kardiolog i voditelj službe za transplantaciju srca u bolnici Harefield, rekao je: "Fantastična je vijest da je jedan od naših ranih pacijenata nastavlja živjeti punim i sretnim životom tako dugo nakon transplantacije. "
Prema podacima britanske zdravstvene službe, prošlog tjedna bilo je 7314 odraslih osoba na aktivnoj listi čekanja za transplantaciju u Ujedinjenom Kraljevstvu, od kojih 248 pacijenata mlađih od 18 godina.
"Nažalost, mnogi od tih ljudi će umrijeti na listi čekanja jer u ovoj zemlji imamo manjak donora organa", upozorio je dr. Gil. "Nadam se da će Bertova priča poslužiti kao poticaj ljudima da razmisli da se registriraju kao donori organa, da doniraju život", poručio je liječnik.

Najdugovječniji pacijent s presađenim srcem, operiran u Engleskoj 1984. godine, ušao je službeno u Guinnessovu knjigu rekorda.
Janssenu je sa 17 godina dijagnosticirana kardiomiopatija, zadebljanje srčanog mišića koje mu onemogućava da pumpa krv po tijelu. Janssenov kardiolog u Nizozemskoj bio je povezan s bolnicom Harefield u Londonu i pionirom transplantacije, profesorom Magdijem Yacoubom, koji je izveo operaciju 6. lipnja 1984. kad je pacijent napunio 18 godina.
U to vrijeme u Nizozemskoj još se nisu presađivala srca. "Sve je išlo vrlo brzo. Samo tjedan dana nakon dolaska u Harefield, dva su srca postala dostupna iz velike prometne nesreće u Londonu", rekao je Janssen.
"Jedno srce se podudaralo i ono je transplantirano. Kao što mi liječnici rekli 30 godina kasnije, mora da je savršeno odgovaralo", rekao je, piše Fenix-magazin.

Janssen je rekao kako mu je novo srce omogućilo da se brzo vrati "kvalitetnom životu". Igrao je tenis i odbojku i radio u punom radnom vremenu. Oženio se Petrom 1996. godine, dobio sinove Guida i Ivu, a danas se čak bavi i parajedriličarstvom.
Njegova je operacija bila 107. takva u Harefieldu. Prvu je izveo Sir Magdi Yacoub 1980. i centar je od tada presadio na tisuće srca.
Dr. Fernando Riesgo Gil, kardiolog i voditelj službe za transplantaciju srca u bolnici Harefield, rekao je: "Fantastična je vijest da je jedan od naših ranih pacijenata nastavlja živjeti punim i sretnim životom tako dugo nakon transplantacije. "
Prema podacima britanske zdravstvene službe, prošlog tjedna bilo je 7314 odraslih osoba na aktivnoj listi čekanja za transplantaciju u Ujedinjenom Kraljevstvu, od kojih 248 pacijenata mlađih od 18 godina.
"Nažalost, mnogi od tih ljudi će umrijeti na listi čekanja jer u ovoj zemlji imamo manjak donora organa", upozorio je dr. Gil. "Nadam se da će Bertova priča poslužiti kao poticaj ljudima da razmisli da se registriraju kao donori organa, da doniraju život", poručio je liječnik.
