Slučajevi gonoreja i sifilisa dramatično su se povećali posljednjih godina, a HIV je još uvijek neizlječiv, upozoravaju liječnici i mole se za dosljedniju uporabu kondoma, piše Kurier.
- U Europi se svake godine zabilježi više od 500.000 spolno prenosivih infekcija, a trend naglo raste, izjavio je Georg Stingl, predsjednik Emeritus Odjela za dermatologiju Medicinskog sveučilišta u Beču (MedUni).
Od 2012. do 2018. slučajevi gonoreja povećali su se za dramatičnih 93 posto, a slučajevi sifilisa za 58 posto. Svjetska zdravstvena organizacija porast spolno prenosivih bolesti naziva "tihom epidemijom".

Dugoročne posljedice neliječenih spolnih bolesti uključuju neplodnost i, u slučaju humanih papiloma virusa (HPV), čak i rak. Bez obzira na spolno prenosive bolesti, rana dijagnoza bi bila važna. Slučajevi gonoreja i sifilisa dramatično su se povećali posljednjih godina, a HIV je još uvijek neizlječiv, upozoravaju liječnici i mole se za dosljedniju uporabu kondoma, piše Kurier.
- U Europi se svake godine zabilježi više od 500.000 spolno prenosivih infekcija, a trend naglo raste, izjavio je Georg Stingl, predsjednik Emeritus Odjela za dermatologiju Medicinskog sveučilišta u Beču (MedUni).
Od 2012. do 2018. slučajevi gonoreja povećali su se za dramatičnih 93 posto, a slučajevi sifilisa za 58 posto. Svjetska zdravstvena organizacija porast spolno prenosivih bolesti naziva "tihom epidemijom".
- Mnogi patogeni ne proizvode nikakve simptome u akutnoj fazi, zbog čega oboljeli ne odlaze liječniku i ne primaju terapiju, rekao je Georg Stary s Odjela za dermatologiju MedUni Vienna. Međutim, oni uzrokuju probleme kao što je kronična upala.

U slučaju bakterijskih infekcija, antibiotici bi obično dobro djelovali, iako se sve više i više otpornosti na antibiotike javlja u bakterijama koje uzrokuju gonore (gonokoki). Čak i kod infekcije HIV-om, kombinirana terapija s više lijekova sprječava izbijanje AIDS-a samo ako se započne u ranoj fazi.
- Trenutno u Austriji živi između 8.000 i 9.000 ljudi sa zarazom HIV-om, izvijestio je Erwin Tschachler, koji također radi na Odjelu za dermatologiju MedUni Vienna.
