Jeste li čuli za terapiju "puštanje krvi"? Da, bila je popularna u doba starih civilizacija, no u izvjesnim je slučajevima podupire i suvremena medicina. Naziva se terapijska flebotomija.

Neki je uspoređuju sa doniranjem krvi, kontroliranom aktivnošću koja može spasiti ljudski život, ali i kvalitativno unaprijediti onaj samog donora. Terapijsko puštanje krvi radi se u dnevnoj bolnici, količina krvi koja se ispusti kod odraslih osoba je 450 do 500 militara, a prakticira se u slučajevima kada se iz organizma odstranjuju deformirana crvena krvna zrnca, ili drastičan višak - željeza.

No, svi znamo da je rečena flebotomija kod nas najviše uvriježena zbog dijagnostike, naime kad kažemo da "idemo vadit krv".

O puštanju krvi u terapijske svrhe piše i portal eklinika, naime ta se terapija primjenjuje kod pacijenata koji pate od keokromatoze, bolesti srpastih ćelija, nealkoholne masne jetre, viška željeza... Količina krvi koja se ispusti kod odraslih osoba je 450 do 500 militara. Krv se skuplja u vrećice ili u šprice, postupak traje dvije do tri minute i pacijentu dugoročno može olakšati tegobe prouzročene nekim dijagnozama. Flebotomija se kod policitemija vera primjenjuje jednom ili dva puta tjedno, dok se vrijednosti ne približe optimalnima.

Kod nasljednih bolesti, kad organizam apsorbira višak željeza iz hrаne pa ga potom taloži u srce, gušteraču, jetra i kožu terapija puštanja krvi radi se jednom tjedno, piše eklinika.

No, postoje neželjene reakcije, nuspojave poput vrtoglavice i sniženog krvnog tlaka, što se sanira vitaminskom intravenskom infuzijom. Tijekom terapije preporučena je tjelesna aktivnost, a nipošto konzumacija alkohola.

Podsjetimo, puštanje krvi u terapijske svrhe drevna je medicinska tehnika koja se koristila u starom Egiptu, Grčkoj i Rimu, pa potom proširila i na Europu i Aziju. Flebotomija se u tradicionalnoj medicini koristila kao sredstvo protiv povišene "fibre", glavobolje, gubitka apetita, probavnih tegoba... Takva je arhaična metoda, na žalost, zbog tako isprovociranog, pretjeranog krvarenja počesto završavala fatalnim ishodom.
