Princeza u naslovu filma "The Princess Diaries" trasirala je karijeru Anne Hathaway. Početkom dvijetisućitih Hathaway se nametala kao princeza romantične komedije, u vrijeme dok je njezin uzor Julia Roberts još uvijek slovila za kraljicu rom-coma, snimivši samo 1999. dva velika kinohita "Ja u ljubav vjerujem" i "Odbjegla nevjesta".

Pod svoje okrilje Hathaway je uzeo Garry Marshall, redatelj koji je lansirao Roberts u megazvijezde sa "Zgodnom ženom" i režirao "Runaway Bride". Poslije nastavka "The Princess Diaries 2", znakovito podnaslovljenog "Royal Engagement", Hathaway se potvrdila kao princeza žanra i snimila čitav niz rom-comova da je pretendirala i na tron kraljice zajedno s Kate Hudson s kojom se simbolički borila za kraljevsku titulu u "Bride Wars".

Međutim, na korak do potencijalnog trona, Hathaway se, slijedeći primjer Roberts, odlučila okušati kao dramska glumica i skresala romantično-komične uloge, posebice nakon osvajanja Oscara za "Jadnike". Unatrag desetak godina najviše se približila žanru s filmom "Pripravnik" i serijom "Moderna ljubav".

No, kako je rom-com u posljednje vrijeme opet živnuo ("Karta za raj", "Samo ne ti"), Hathaway se vratila žanru odakle je ponikla. Za povratak je odabrala adaptaciju romana Robinne Lee "The Idea Of You", naizgled inspiriranog vezom mlade pop-zvijezde Harryja Stylesa i deset godina starije glumice Olivije Wilde, koji su u scenarij pretvorili Jennifer Westfeldt ("Friends With Kids") i Michael Showalter ("Moja ljubavna priča"), a potonji je film i režirao.

Nastao u produkciji Amazona, "The Idea Of You" je romantično-komična verzija drame "May December", ali i, još više, inverzija rom-com klasika "Notting Hill" s Roberts i Hughom Grantom, taman da se razlikuje od (pre)slično postavljenog "Marry Me" s Jennifer Lopez i Owenom Wilsonom.

Par je opet britansko-američki, usamljena globalna superzvijezda ovaj put je mladi, 24-godišnji muškarac Hayes (Nicholas Galitzine; "Pepeljuga"), i to, dakle, pjevač boy benda, a pripadnik običnih malih ljudi sada je razvedena 40-godišnja galeristica Solene (Hathaway). Kemija među njima nije toliko sjajna kao ona Roberts i Granta, ali iskrice dovoljno lete da pokrenu romansu.

Hayes i Solene upoznaju se na Coachelli gdje je ona dovela kćerku-tinejdžerku Izzy (Ella Rubin) na VIP-ovski "meet&greet" s njegovim sastavom August Moon koji je slušala kad je bila u sedmom osnovne. Upoznavanje se događa kad Solene zamijeni Hayesovu prikolicu za WC, što njemu bude simpatično, a privuče ga i njezina "down to Earth" ljudskost, mogućnost da se druže "kao normalni ljudi", uz to što je i lijepa kao hollywoodska zvijezda.

Nakon što Hayes posjeti Solene u galeriji i par se od medija i fanova skloni kod nje doma, privlačnost iznjedri poljubac. "Prestara sam za tebe, mogu ti biti majka", kaže Solene, ali ne uspije odoljeti Hayesovu udvaranju i pridruži mu se na europskoj turneji, nesvjesna reperkusija izlaženja sa slavnom osobom kao da nije gledala "Ja u ljubav vjerujem" (paparazzi, obožavateljice), tim više što je dosta starija od njega, taman da spozna svu zlobnost portala i društvenih mreža gdje će dobiti nadimak "cougar" i "Yoko 2.0".

Međugeneracijska romansa u doba interneta razlikuje "The Idea Of You" od superiornijeg "Notting Hilla", a introspekcija u vezi Hathaway, tj. očekivanja svijeta od "40+" glumica/žena čini film zanimljivijim u "meta" smislu. Smije li "starija" žena ljubiti mlađeg muškarca, odnosno smije li 42-godišnja glumica snimati rom-comove rezervirane za mlade kolegice poput Sydney Sweeney?

"Nisi čak ni osoba dok ne napuniš 30 godina. Zatim sljedećih deset godina provedeš shvaćajući kakva osoba želiš biti", prijateljica kaže Solene na proslavi njezinog 40. rođendana. Hathaway je shvatila kakva glumica želi biti, ali se vratila žanru koji ju je proslavio i odala počast jednoj od najboljih romantičnih komedija. Ja u Hathaway vjerujem.

Princeza u naslovu filma "The Princess Diaries" trasirala je karijeru Anne Hathaway. Početkom dvijetisućitih Hathaway se nametala kao princeza romantične komedije, u vrijeme dok je njezin uzor Julia Roberts još uvijek slovila za kraljicu rom-coma, snimivši samo 1999. dva velika kinohita "Ja u ljubav vjerujem" i "Odbjegla nevjesta".

Pod svoje okrilje Hathaway je uzeo Garry Marshall, redatelj koji je lansirao Roberts u megazvijezde sa "Zgodnom ženom" i režirao "Runaway Bride". Poslije nastavka "The Princess Diaries 2", znakovito podnaslovljenog "Royal Engagement", Hathaway se potvrdila kao princeza žanra i snimila čitav niz rom-comova da je pretendirala i na tron kraljice zajedno s Kate Hudson s kojom se simbolički borila za kraljevsku titulu u "Bride Wars".

Međutim, na korak do potencijalnog trona, Hathaway se, slijedeći primjer Roberts, odlučila okušati kao dramska glumica i skresala romantično-komične uloge, posebice nakon osvajanja Oscara za "Jadnike". Unatrag desetak godina najviše se približila žanru s filmom "Pripravnik" i serijom "Moderna ljubav".

No, kako je rom-com u posljednje vrijeme opet živnuo ("Karta za raj", "Samo ne ti"), Hathaway se vratila žanru odakle je ponikla. Za povratak je odabrala adaptaciju romana Robinne Lee "The Idea Of You", naizgled inspiriranog vezom mlade pop-zvijezde Harryja Stylesa i deset godina starije glumice Olivije Wilde, koji su u scenarij pretvorili Jennifer Westfeldt ("Friends With Kids") i Michael Showalter ("Moja ljubavna priča"), a potonji je film i režirao.

Nastao u produkciji Amazona, "The Idea Of You" je romantično-komična verzija drame "May December", ali i, još više, inverzija rom-com klasika "Notting Hill" s Roberts i Hughom Grantom, taman da se razlikuje od (pre)slično postavljenog "Marry Me" s Jennifer Lopez i Owenom Wilsonom.

Par je opet britansko-američki, usamljena globalna superzvijezda ovaj put je mladi, 24-godišnji muškarac Hayes (Nicholas Galitzine; "Pepeljuga"), i to, dakle, pjevač boy benda, a pripadnik običnih malih ljudi sada je razvedena 40-godišnja galeristica Solene (Hathaway). Kemija među njima nije toliko sjajna kao ona Roberts i Granta, ali iskrice dovoljno lete da pokrenu romansu.

Hayes i Solene upoznaju se na Coachelli gdje je ona dovela kćerku-tinejdžerku Izzy (Ella Rubin) na VIP-ovski "meet&greet" s njegovim sastavom August Moon koji je slušala kad je bila u sedmom osnovne. Upoznavanje se događa kad Solene zamijeni Hayesovu prikolicu za WC, što njemu bude simpatično, a privuče ga i njezina "down to Earth" ljudskost, mogućnost da se druže "kao normalni ljudi", uz to što je i lijepa kao hollywoodska zvijezda.

Nakon što Hayes posjeti Solene u galeriji i par se od medija i fanova skloni kod nje doma, privlačnost iznjedri poljubac. "Prestara sam za tebe, mogu ti biti majka", kaže Solene, ali ne uspije odoljeti Hayesovu udvaranju i pridruži mu se na europskoj turneji, nesvjesna reperkusija izlaženja sa slavnom osobom kao da nije gledala "Ja u ljubav vjerujem" (paparazzi, obožavateljice), tim više što je dosta starija od njega, taman da spozna svu zlobnost portala i društvenih mreža gdje će dobiti nadimak "cougar" i "Yoko 2.0".

Međugeneracijska romansa u doba interneta razlikuje "The Idea Of You" od superiornijeg "Notting Hilla", a introspekcija u vezi Hathaway, tj. očekivanja svijeta od "40+" glumica/žena čini film zanimljivijim u "meta" smislu. Smije li "starija" žena ljubiti mlađeg muškarca, odnosno smije li 42-godišnja glumica snimati rom-comove rezervirane za mlade kolegice poput Sydney Sweeney?

"Nisi čak ni osoba dok ne napuniš 30 godina. Zatim sljedećih deset godina provedeš shvaćajući kakva osoba želiš biti", prijateljica kaže Solene na proslavi njezinog 40. rođendana.
