Nije da samo američki film resetira popularne serijale, radi to i francuska kinematografija. “Asterix i Obelix: Srednje kraljevstvo” (“Astérix & Obélix: L’Empire du Milieu”) predstavlja galske junake iz omiljenih stripova dvojca Albert Uderzo-René Goscinny s novom ekipom ispred i iza kamere.

Nakon nekolicine kvalitetnih animiranih filmova u osamdesetima pa i devedesetima, filmska franšiza o malom Asterixu i punašnom Obelixu započela je 1999. godine. U “Asterixu i Obelixu protiv Cezara” junake su utjelovili Christian Clavier i iznimno pogođeni Gerard Depardieu, a glavnog negativca Luciusa Detritusa glumio je Roberto Benigni, tada friški oskarovac.

Uspjeh filma u francuskim i europskim kinima iznjedrio je 2002. nastavak “Asterix i Obelix: Misija Kleopatra” ponovno s Clavierom i Depardieuom te Monicom Bellucci kao Cezarovom boljom polovicom iz podnaslova, uzgred jedan od (dotad) najskupljih europskih filmova u povijesti s blockbusterskim proračunom od 50-ak milijuna dolara.

Treći i još skuplji dio stigao je 2008., “Asterix i Obelix na Olimpijskim igrama”, ovaj put s Clovisom Cornillacom kao zamjenom za Claviera, legendarnim Alainom Delonom kao Cezarom te sportašima Zinedineom Zidaneom i Michaelom Schumacherom u “cameo” ulogama.

Konačno, “Asterix i Obelix u Britaniji” iz 2012. angažirao je Edouarda Baera na mjestu Claviera i Cornillaca, ali i još jednu legendu francuskoga glumišta Catherine Deneuve. Slabija prođa trećeg i četvrtog filma rezultirala je potrebom za resetiranjem serijala i tako smo 11 godina kasnije dobili peti dio franšize – “Asterix i Obelix: Srednje kraljevstvo”.

Asterix je sada Guillaume Canet (“Žal”, “Plivaj muški”, “Dvostruki životi”, “Predivan život”), ujedno i redatelj, dok je ulogu Obelixa od Depardieua naslijedio Gilles Lellouche (“U sigurnim rukama”, “Snaga istine”). Glumačka ekipa je pojačana Vincentom Casselom i (preglumljenom) oskarovkom Marion Cottilard kao novim Cezarom i Kleopatrom, a imamo i “cameo” Zlatana Ibrahimovića u ulozi rimskog vojnika Antivirusa.

Canet je bolji od Baera i Cornillaca, Lellouche iznenađujuće dostojan Depardieua, Cassel najbolji Cezar dosad, ali “Astérix & Obélix: L’Empire du Milieu” manje-više operira unutar osrednje-niskih ili nižih dometa prijašnjih konfekcijskih filmova i otprilike je kao prvi i drugi dio, malo iznad trećeg i četvrtog.

Ni peti dio nije ponovio čaroliju stripova/crtića koji su bili posebniji i ispijali avanture Asterixa i Obelixa poput čarobnog napitka. Ništa posebno novoga “Asterix i Obelix: Srednje kraljevstvo” ne donosi osim što nastavlja amerikanizirati blockbusterski serijal i širi ga na lukrativno kinesko tržište po hollywoodskom receptu.

Tako, Asterix i Obelix ovaj put spašavaju kinesku princezu Gun Gu La (Julie Chen) i avantura ih odvodi u daleku Kinu, gdje odlazi i Cezar. Rijetka novost jest da se obojica zaljubljuju, Asterix u princezu, a Obelixu u njezinu kung-fu čuvaricu Zviz Nem (Leanna Chea).

Pojava kineskih likova podrazumijeva borilačke vještine i kung-fu se isprepleće s gegovima, odnosno tučnjavom galskog dvojca u stilu Buda Spencera i Terencea Hilla, pojačanom čarobnim napitkom koji Asterixa, kad ga cugne iz čuturice, pretvara u superheroja (Obelix je upao kao dijete u kotao s napitkom).

Na momente to može biti simpatično za nekoga tko je odrastao u osamdesetima uz crtiće o Asterixu i Obelixu, “Dva superpolicajca”, “Božji oklop” ili “Veliku gužvu u Kineskoj četvrti”. Nažalost, borilačka akcija ne doseže modernu gracioznost “Tigra i zmaja” i “Matrixa”, čemu nedvojbeno stremi, jednako kao što i u scenama masovnih bitaka pokušava dosegnuti hollywoodske spektakle, no “Gladijatoru” i “Troji” nije ni do sandala.

Canet pokušava miješati tradicionalno i moderno te ići ukorak s vremenom tako što likovima daje dvoznačna imena (pročitajte još jednom kako se zovu princeza i njezina čuvarica, a spomenimo i Den Tsin Qina; Dancing Queen) i ažurira humor uvodeći anakronizme, tj. suvremene popkulturne referencije. Rimljani pjevaju “We Will Rock You”, Kleopatra se nalazi na reklamnom “jumbo” plakatu, golubovi pismonoše vibriraju kao mobiteli kad dostave poruku itd. Nekako čisto sumnjamo da bi se Uderzu i Goscinnyju svidio novi “Asterix i Obelix”.

Stižu i nova ‘Tri mušketira’

Guillaume Canet je prethodno režirao sebe, Gillesa Lellouchea i Marion Cottilard u filmu “Male nevine laži”. Serijal o Asterixu i Obelixu je komercijalno najisplativija francuska filmska franšiza, uspješnija od “Dalekih rođaka” i “Taksija”. Francuzi ove godine u kina puštaju dvodijelni film o Tri mušketira sa zvučnom glumačkom ekipom (Vincent Cassel, Eva Green, Vicky Krieps...) koji bi mogao postati serijal. Nadajmo se da će biti bolji od “Asterixa i Obelixa”.

Nije da samo američki film resetira popularne serijale, radi to i francuska kinematografija. “Asterix i Obelix: Srednje kraljevstvo” (“Astérix & Obélix: L’Empire du Milieu”) predstavlja galske junake iz omiljenih stripova dvojca Albert Uderzo-René Goscinny s novom ekipom ispred i iza kamere.

Nakon nekolicine kvalitetnih animiranih filmova u osamdesetima pa i devedesetima, filmska franšiza o malom Asterixu i punašnom Obelixu započela je 1999. godine. U “Asterixu i Obelixu protiv Cezara” junake su utjelovili Christian Clavier i iznimno pogođeni Gerard Depardieu, a glavnog negativca Luciusa Detritusa glumio je Roberto Benigni, tada friški oskarovac.

Uspjeh filma u francuskim i europskim kinima iznjedrio je 2002. nastavak “Asterix i Obelix: Misija Kleopatra” ponovno s Clavierom i Depardieuom te Monicom Bellucci kao Cezarovom boljom polovicom iz podnaslova, uzgred jedan od (dotad) najskupljih europskih filmova u povijesti s blockbusterskim proračunom od 50-ak milijuna dolara.

Treći i još skuplji dio stigao je 2008., “Asterix i Obelix na Olimpijskim igrama”, ovaj put s Clovisom Cornillacom kao zamjenom za Claviera, legendarnim Alainom Delonom kao Cezarom te sportašima Zinedineom Zidaneom i Michaelom Schumacherom u “cameo” ulogama.

Konačno, “Asterix i Obelix u Britaniji” iz 2012. angažirao je Edouarda Baera na mjestu Claviera i Cornillaca, ali i još jednu legendu francuskoga glumišta Catherine Deneuve. Slabija prođa trećeg i četvrtog filma rezultirala je potrebom za resetiranjem serijala i tako smo 11 godina kasnije dobili peti dio franšize – “Asterix i Obelix: Srednje kraljevstvo”.

Asterix je sada Guillaume Canet (“Žal”, “Plivaj muški”, “Dvostruki životi”, “Predivan život”), ujedno i redatelj, dok je ulogu Obelixa od Depardieua naslijedio Gilles Lellouche (“U sigurnim rukama”, “Snaga istine”). Glumačka ekipa je pojačana Vincentom Casselom i (preglumljenom) oskarovkom Marion Cottilard kao novim Cezarom i Kleopatrom, a imamo i “cameo” Zlatana Ibrahimovića u ulozi rimskog vojnika Antivirusa.

Canet je bolji od Baera i Cornillaca, Lellouche iznenađujuće dostojan Depardieua, Cassel najbolji Cezar dosad, ali “Astérix & Obélix: L’Empire du Milieu” manje-više operira unutar osrednje-niskih ili nižih dometa prijašnjih konfekcijskih filmova i otprilike je kao prvi i drugi dio, malo iznad trećeg i četvrtog.

Ni peti dio nije ponovio čaroliju stripova/crtića koji su bili posebniji i ispijali avanture Asterixa i Obelixa poput čarobnog napitka. Ništa posebno novoga “Asterix i Obelix: Srednje kraljevstvo” ne donosi osim što nastavlja amerikanizirati blockbusterski serijal i širi ga na lukrativno kinesko tržište po hollywoodskom receptu.

Tako, Asterix i Obelix ovaj put spašavaju kinesku princezu Gun Gu La (Julie Chen) i avantura ih odvodi u daleku Kinu, gdje odlazi i Cezar. Rijetka novost jest da se obojica zaljubljuju, Asterix u princezu, a Obelixu u njezinu kung-fu čuvaricu Zviz Nem (Leanna Chea).

Pojava kineskih likova podrazumijeva borilačke vještine i kung-fu se isprepleće s gegovima, odnosno tučnjavom galskog dvojca u stilu Buda Spencera i Terencea Hilla, pojačanom čarobnim napitkom koji Asterixa, kad ga cugne iz čuturice, pretvara u superheroja (Obelix je upao kao dijete u kotao s napitkom).

Na momente to može biti simpatično za nekoga tko je odrastao u osamdesetima uz crtiće o Asterixu i Obelixu, “Dva superpolicajca”, “Božji oklop” ili “Veliku gužvu u Kineskoj četvrti”. Nažalost, borilačka akcija ne doseže modernu gracioznost “Tigra i zmaja” i “Matrixa”, čemu nedvojbeno stremi, jednako kao što i u scenama masovnih bitaka pokušava dosegnuti hollywoodske spektakle, no “Gladijatoru” i “Troji” nije ni do sandala.

Canet pokušava miješati tradicionalno i moderno te ići ukorak s vremenom tako što likovima daje dvoznačna imena (pročitajte još jednom kako se zovu princeza i njezina čuvarica, a spomenimo i Den Tsin Qina; Dancing Queen) i ažurira humor uvodeći anakronizme, tj. suvremene popkulturne referencije. Rimljani pjevaju “We Will Rock You”, Kleopatra se nalazi na reklamnom “jumbo” plakatu, golubovi pismonoše vibriraju kao mobiteli kad dostave poruku itd. Nekako čisto sumnjamo da bi se Uderzu i Goscinnyju svidio novi “Asterix i Obelix”.

Stižu i nova ‘Tri mušketira’

Guillaume Canet je prethodno režirao sebe, Gillesa Lellouchea i Marion Cottilard u filmu “Male nevine laži”. Serijal o Asterixu i Obelixu je komercijalno najisplativija francuska filmska franšiza, uspješnija od “Dalekih rođaka” i “Taksija”. Francuzi ove godine u kina puštaju dvodijelni film o Tri mušketira sa zvučnom glumačkom ekipom (Vincent Cassel, Eva Green, Vicky Krieps...) koji bi mogao postati serijal. Nadajmo se da će biti bolji od “Asterixa i Obelixa”.
