Nakon nedjeljnih izbora 16. svibnja, Nezavisna lista mladih osvojila je apsolutnu vlast u Vrgorcu. Dobili su gradonačelnika u prvom krugu i sedam od 13 vijećnika u novom sazivu Gradskog vijeća. Time su zaokružili priču započetu pred lokalne izbore 2013., kad su bivši mladi SDP-ovci Ante Pranić i Mirko Vuković okupili ekipu, osnovali NLM i osvojili dva vijećnička mjesta. Od tada pa do 2017. Vrgorac je stalno živio u krizi vlasti, tijekom koje su se svake godine održavali lokalni izbori, pritom izmijenila tri gradonačelnika i dva Vladina povjerenika, a Nezavisna lista mladih – koja je u međuvremenu postala i stranka – istodobno, polako i strpljivo "grizla" biračko tijelo HDZ-a i SDP-a.

Sređivanje sustava

Nakon Pranićeve pobjede na prijevremenim izborima 2016., a pogotovo nakon redovitih izbora 2017., Vrgorac je ušao u razdoblje političke stabilnosti u kojoj je sedam NLM-vih i dvoje SDP-ovih vijećnika činilo većinu u Vijeću, dok je šest HDZ-ovaca bilo oporba.

Prošli mandat obilježilo je sređivanje sustava i plaćanje dugova naslijeđenih od HDZ-ove vladavine te provođenje brojnih infrastrukturnih projekata. Da su građani očito zadovoljni tim radom, svjedoči 56,44 posto glasova koje je osvojio Mile Herceg, kandidat NLM-a i dosadašnji zamjenik gradonačelnika, te NLM-ovih 50,23 posto na izborima za Gradsko vijeće.
Mile Herceg i Nezavisna lista mladih dobili su apsolutnu vlast i potreban mir za rad i kontinuitet kako bi provodili projekte koje su obećali. Ovakvom velikom pobjedom, NLM se profilirao u općevrgorsku stranku koja okuplja najraznolikije ljude, a kojima su zapravo jedine zajedničke stvari izraženi lokalpatriotizam i odbojnost prema HDZ-ovoj, ponajviše lokalnoj, ali i nacionalnoj politici.

Ako se NLM bude klonio ideologiziranja i sektašenja – a u tu provaliju će ga HDZ stalno pokušati uvući – funkcionirat će normalno. No, dosadašnji Pranićev NLM sad postaje Hercegov NLM, a kako će ta tranzicija izgledati u stvarnosti, tek ćemo vidjeti. S druge strane, HDZ je dovoljno jak da se NLM neće moći opustiti. Jer to je HDZ, uvijek gladan vlasti i sinekura u javnim službama, istodobno snažno podupiran od regionalnog i državnog HDZ-a.
Poznavatelji prilika na vrgorskoj političkoj sceni smatraju da ispadanje SDP-a iz Gradskog vijeća nakon trideset godina hrvatske demokracije nije dobro ni za NLM jer je time dosta brojna lijeva opcija izgubila svoga predstavnika. Prije je SDP te glasače dijelio s Antom Pranićem kao lijevim kandidatom, ali Herceg to nije, već konzervativac (a i sama jezgra stranke je desna), iako se dosad pokazivao otvoren za suradnju i s ljevicom i s desnicom.

Međutim, ispadanjem SDP-a dogodio se pomak ravnoteže, a to može imati dugoročne posljedice nego se sad, u trenutku slavlja NLM-ove većine, to može pretpostaviti. To je u večeri pobjede u stožeru bilo jasno i značajnijim članovima NLM-a desnije orijentacije.

SDP-ov poraz

Godinama destruirani SDP, kojemu je NLM oduzeo mnogo ljudstva, a preostalo se pasiviziralo, istodobno bez novca u kampanji, žrtva i politike i rejtinga državnog SDP-a, nije mogao postići bolje rezultate. Saša Šimunović je u tim okolnostima napravio maksimum mogućeg, a sada će se ta stranka, inercijom, morati riješiti većeg dijela dosadašnje uprave i u Vrgorcu krenuti novim izvanparlamentarnim putem.

U kampanji su se trudili napraviti potpun odmak od državnog SDP-a i gurati vrgorsku priču, međutim to je područje zauzeo NLM. Tamo gdje je SDP mogao ponuditi samo riječ, NLM je nudio projekte, opipljiv javni novac, promatrače. Osim toga, oštetila ih je i pojava nezavisne liste Darija Galića i HSS-a u zadnji čas, listi bez programa i bez prijašnje aktivnosti. Kao najslabijem od tri glavne opcije, SDP-u pojavu te dvije liste D'Hondt nije oprostio. Izgubili su vijećnika za svega desetak glasova.
HDZ je ovaj put krenuo u izbore protiv NLM-ova kandidata koji nije ljevičar.

Kako bi dobili izbore, morali su se nužno maknuti iz svoga biračkog bazena i zone komfora te umjerenaškom politikom probati osvojiti dio populacije koja izvorno nije njihova. Međutim, upravo suprotno, HDZ je stavio sve samo ne umjerenog kandidata, bez iskustva, da im priskrbi pobjedu. Zato logično nije ni prošlo. Nije pomogao ni angažman starije garde s iskustvom, koja, kako godine protječu, broji više poraza nego nekad pobjeda. Osim toga, ambiciozno su krenuli u predizbornu kampanju, koja se, međutim, ispuhala puno prije samih izbora.

HDZ, nakon čišćenja biračkih popisa od lažnih birača i gubitka izvršne vlasti, tu snagu više nema. HDZ je također ušao u izbore s nerazriješenim odnosima zadnjih unutarstranačkih izbora u kojima poražena opcija nije imala previše želje za angažmanom. Stranka je ionako heterogena i može je okupiti samo opipljiv interes, a ovdje ga očito nije bilo dovoljno.

Nakon nedjeljnih izbora 16. svibnja, Nezavisna lista mladih osvojila je apsolutnu vlast u Vrgorcu. Dobili su gradonačelnika u prvom krugu i sedam od 13 vijećnika u novom sazivu Gradskog vijeća. Time su zaokružili priču započetu pred lokalne izbore 2013., kad su bivši mladi SDP-ovci Ante Pranić i Mirko Vuković okupili ekipu, osnovali NLM i osvojili dva vijećnička mjesta. Od tada pa do 2017. Vrgorac je stalno živio u krizi vlasti, tijekom koje su se svake godine održavali lokalni izbori, pritom izmijenila tri gradonačelnika i dva Vladina povjerenika, a Nezavisna lista mladih – koja je u međuvremenu postala i stranka – istodobno, polako i strpljivo "grizla" biračko tijelo HDZ-a i SDP-a.

Sređivanje sustava

Nakon Pranićeve pobjede na prijevremenim izborima 2016., a pogotovo nakon redovitih izbora 2017., Vrgorac je ušao u razdoblje političke stabilnosti u kojoj je sedam NLM-vih i dvoje SDP-ovih vijećnika činilo većinu u Vijeću, dok je šest HDZ-ovaca bilo oporba.

Prošli mandat obilježilo je sređivanje sustava i plaćanje dugova naslijeđenih od HDZ-ove vladavine te provođenje brojnih infrastrukturnih projekata. Da su građani očito zadovoljni tim radom, svjedoči 56,44 posto glasova koje je osvojio Mile Herceg, kandidat NLM-a i dosadašnji zamjenik gradonačelnika, te NLM-ovih 50,23 posto na izborima za Gradsko vijeće.
Mile Herceg i Nezavisna lista mladih dobili su apsolutnu vlast i potreban mir za rad i kontinuitet kako bi provodili projekte koje su obećali. Ovakvom velikom pobjedom, NLM se profilirao u općevrgorsku stranku koja okuplja najraznolikije ljude, a kojima su zapravo jedine zajedničke stvari izraženi lokalpatriotizam i odbojnost prema HDZ-ovoj, ponajviše lokalnoj, ali i nacionalnoj politici.

Ako se NLM bude klonio ideologiziranja i sektašenja – a u tu provaliju će ga HDZ stalno pokušati uvući – funkcionirat će normalno. No, dosadašnji Pranićev NLM sad postaje Hercegov NLM, a kako će ta tranzicija izgledati u stvarnosti, tek ćemo vidjeti. S druge strane, HDZ je dovoljno jak da se NLM neće moći opustiti. Jer to je HDZ, uvijek gladan vlasti i sinekura u javnim službama, istodobno snažno podupiran od regionalnog i državnog HDZ-a.
Poznavatelji prilika na vrgorskoj političkoj sceni smatraju da ispadanje SDP-a iz Gradskog vijeća nakon trideset godina hrvatske demokracije nije dobro ni za NLM jer je time dosta brojna lijeva opcija izgubila svoga predstavnika. Prije je SDP te glasače dijelio s Antom Pranićem kao lijevim kandidatom, ali Herceg to nije, već konzervativac (a i sama jezgra stranke je desna), iako se dosad pokazivao otvoren za suradnju i s ljevicom i s desnicom.

Međutim, ispadanjem SDP-a dogodio se pomak ravnoteže, a to može imati dugoročne posljedice nego se sad, u trenutku slavlja NLM-ove većine, to može pretpostaviti. To je u večeri pobjede u stožeru bilo jasno i značajnijim članovima NLM-a desnije orijentacije.

SDP-ov poraz

Godinama destruirani SDP, kojemu je NLM oduzeo mnogo ljudstva, a preostalo se pasiviziralo, istodobno bez novca u kampanji, žrtva i politike i rejtinga državnog SDP-a, nije mogao postići bolje rezultate. Saša Šimunović je u tim okolnostima napravio maksimum mogućeg, a sada će se ta stranka, inercijom, morati riješiti većeg dijela dosadašnje uprave i u Vrgorcu krenuti novim izvanparlamentarnim putem.

U kampanji su se trudili napraviti potpun odmak od državnog SDP-a i gurati vrgorsku priču, međutim to je područje zauzeo NLM. Tamo gdje je SDP mogao ponuditi samo riječ, NLM je nudio projekte, opipljiv javni novac, promatrače. Osim toga, oštetila ih je i pojava nezavisne liste Darija Galića i HSS-a u zadnji čas, listi bez programa i bez prijašnje aktivnosti. Kao najslabijem od tri glavne opcije, SDP-u pojavu te dvije liste D'Hondt nije oprostio. Izgubili su vijećnika za svega desetak glasova.
HDZ je ovaj put krenuo u izbore protiv NLM-ova kandidata koji nije ljevičar.

Kako bi dobili izbore, morali su se nužno maknuti iz svoga biračkog bazena i zone komfora te umjerenaškom politikom probati osvojiti dio populacije koja izvorno nije njihova. Međutim, upravo suprotno, HDZ je stavio sve samo ne umjerenog kandidata, bez iskustva, da im priskrbi pobjedu. Zato logično nije ni prošlo. Nije pomogao ni angažman starije garde s iskustvom, koja, kako godine protječu, broji više poraza nego nekad pobjeda. Osim toga, ambiciozno su krenuli u predizbornu kampanju, koja se, međutim, ispuhala puno prije samih izbora.

HDZ, nakon čišćenja biračkih popisa od lažnih birača i gubitka izvršne vlasti, tu snagu više nema. HDZ je također ušao u izbore s nerazriješenim odnosima zadnjih unutarstranačkih izbora u kojima poražena opcija nije imala previše želje za angažmanom. Stranka je ionako heterogena i može je okupiti samo opipljiv interes, a ovdje ga očito nije bilo dovoljno.
