Kandža s britvama Freddyja Krugera izronila je iz zemlje i odnijela hokejašku masku Jasona Voorheesa. Dogodilo se to 1993. na samom kraju devetog dijela serijala “Petak 13.”, naslovljenog “Jason ide u pakao”. Veliko iznenađenje za filmofile bilo je ekvivalantno prizoru Alienove lubanje među Predatorovim trofejima u “Predatoru 2” tri godine ranije.

”Jason Goes To Hell: The Final Friday” je posijao sjeme za tzv. crossover film s dvije ponajveće hororske ikone, nezaboravne negativce serijala “Strava u Ulici brijestova” i “Petak 13.”. Pa ipak, trebalo je proći deset godina da se Freddy i Jason nađu u istom kadru. U međuvremenu su se pojavili još jednom svaki u svome matičnom serijalu, Kruger u metafilmski sjajnoj “Novoj stravi Wesa Cravena” kao preteči “Vriska”, Voorhees u svemirskom “Jasonu X”.

Do njihovog susreta u filmu “Freddy protiv Jasona” (“Freddy vs. Jason”, 2003.), slasherski horori više nisu bili isti nakon što je “Scream” uveo namigujuću (samo)ironiju, satiru, sarkazam i parodiju u žanr. Trebalo je naći odgovarajući pristup Krugeru i Voorheesu na pola puta između njihovih serijala i “Vriska”.

Za režiju “Freddyja protiv Jasona” odabran je Ronny Yu koji je postigao upravo to unutar serijala “Dječja igra” s “Chuckyjevom nevjestom” i oživio Chuckyja za post-”Scream” eru. Nažalost, “Freddy vs. Jason” nije “Bride Of Chucky”, ali zna bljesnuti dovitljivošću i može zadovoljiti poklonike likova i njihovih (ne)djela.

Scenaristi Victor Miller (napisao originalni “Friday The 13th”) i Damian Shannon (remake “Petka 13.” iz 2009.) zgodno su pospojili Krugera i Voorheesa, ubojice iz Ulice brijestova i s Kristalnog jezera, kao što je skladatelj Graeme Revell vješto isprepleo njihove prepoznatljive glazbene teme koje izazivaju “ježenje”. Naime, otkako je zatočen u paklu Freddy (nezamjenjivi Robert Englund) odatle može izaći i ponovno ući u tinejdžerske snove samo ako ga se mladi sjete i počnu opet bojati.

“Nije problem biti mrtav nego zaboravljen. Ne mogu se vratiti ako me se nitko ne sjeća, strah je moja karta za povratak”, govori Kruger nakon što se prisjeti svoje “legendarne vladavine terora” u “best of” kolažu scena iz prijašnjih filmova. Na vlastitu sreću, Freddy je u “utrobi pakla” pronašao “nekoga tko će ih natjerati da se sjećaju” – Jasona (Ken Kirzinger).

Nakon što mu uđe u snove, Kruger nahuška Voorheesa na Ulicu brijestova u fiktivnom američkom gradiću Springwood kako bi tamo ubijao umjesto njega i izazivao strah da (mladi) ljudi nanovo izgovore njegovo ime misleći da je on odgovoran za ubojstva, što ima smisla nakon što jedna žrtva završi neprirodno zgnječena u krevetu na sklapanje (sjetimo se nadnaravne smrti lika Johnnyja Deppa u izvornom filmu).

“Dok ne ojačam, pustit ću Jasona da se zabavlja”, veli Freddy. Međutim, problem je što Voorhees ne zna stati ubijati i Kruger bi, kako je ovaj krenuo, mogao ostati bez žrtava. Stoga, njihov duel je neminovan, a odvijat će se stvarnosti i u svijetu snova, naravno na štetu ostalih likova/tinejdžera koje predvode Lori i Kia (Monica Keena iz serije “Dawson’s Creek”, pjevačica Kelly Rowland iz “Destiny’s Child”).

“Nismo sigurni ako spavamo i ako smo budni”, opaža Kia, jedini iole interesantan lik u filma krcatom krajnje nezanimljivim ljudskim karakterima, opremljene nerijetko lošim dijalozima. “Freddy protiv Jasona” je nadrealniji i inteligentniji od svakog nastavka “Friday The 13th” koji u boljim izdanjima ne doseže lošije izdanke znatno kompleksnijeg serijala “Nightmare On Elm Street” i navikao nas je na slične likove i scene velikog, a neiskorištenog potencijala (u ovom slučaju rave party u kukuruzištu).

Utoliko, može se reći da film neujednačeno ubacuje “Petak 13.” u Ulicu brijestova, tj. da Kruger u ovom okršaju prolazi bolje od Voorheesa. Isprve je štosno vidjeti Jasona u (sub)urbanom okruženju, daleko od šumom obavijenog Kristalnog jezera, ali s vremenom on izgleda kao “uljez”, odnosno djeluje kao još jedan u nizu hororskih ubojica iz predgrađa.

I Freddy je “uljez” kad se radnja iz snova preseli na Kristalno jezero, ali on bolje trpi satiričke “screamovske” žalce scenarista s obzirom da je “Strava u Ulici brijestova” pronalazila mjesta i za (auto)ironični, morbidni humor uz horor, uključujući Krugerove “one-linere”, a za razliku od Voorheesa i “Friday The 13th” koji su “straight”.

Kia, tako, sprda Freddyja u vezi njegovih “nožića.” “Je li time pokušavaš nešto kompenzirati? Možda si malo kratak između nogu? Mislim, ti imaš te male stvari, a Jason ima tu veliku staru stvar...”, veli Kia koja će u jednoj sceni zamalo oživjeti Voorheesa tehnikom “usta na usta” jer ga Kruger utapa u snovima (bljak!).

Kad se ikonički negativci napokon dohvate, tijekom čega Freddy uzima Jasonovu mačetu u ruku, a Jason koristi Freddyjeve kandže protiv njega, fanovi bi mogli biti zadovoljni njihovim duelom koji premješta slasherski horor na teren akcijskog filma, premda su zasigurno vrtjeli i nešto još luđe u vlastitoj glavi razmišljajući tko je jači. Vrhunac je trenutak kad Voorhees postane svojevrsna loptica u Krugerovu fliperu košmara i Freddyjevo torpediranje Jasona. Neka (naj)bolji pobijedi.

Najveći horor kinohit 2003.

Film je imao premijeru 13. kolovoza 2003. i postao je hit sa zaradom od 82 milijuna dolara samo u američkim kinima, odnosno ukupno 116 u svjetskima, a na budžet od 30. Bio je to i najgledaniji horor godine, ispred remakea "Teksaškog masakra motornom pilom".

Kandža s britvama Freddyja Krugera izronila je iz zemlje i odnijela hokejašku masku Jasona Voorheesa. Dogodilo se to 1993. na samom kraju devetog dijela serijala “Petak 13.”, naslovljenog “Jason ide u pakao”. Veliko iznenađenje za filmofile bilo je ekvivalantno prizoru Alienove lubanje među Predatorovim trofejima u “Predatoru 2” tri godine ranije.

”Jason Goes To Hell: The Final Friday” je posijao sjeme za tzv. crossover film s dvije ponajveće hororske ikone, nezaboravne negativce serijala “Strava u Ulici brijestova” i “Petak 13.”. Pa ipak, trebalo je proći deset godina da se Freddy i Jason nađu u istom kadru. U međuvremenu su se pojavili još jednom svaki u svome matičnom serijalu, Kruger u metafilmski sjajnoj “Novoj stravi Wesa Cravena” kao preteči “Vriska”, Voorhees u svemirskom “Jasonu X”.

Do njihovog susreta u filmu “Freddy protiv Jasona” (“Freddy vs. Jason”, 2003.), slasherski horori više nisu bili isti nakon što je “Scream” uveo namigujuću (samo)ironiju, satiru, sarkazam i parodiju u žanr. Trebalo je naći odgovarajući pristup Krugeru i Voorheesu na pola puta između njihovih serijala i “Vriska”.

Za režiju “Freddyja protiv Jasona” odabran je Ronny Yu koji je postigao upravo to unutar serijala “Dječja igra” s “Chuckyjevom nevjestom” i oživio Chuckyja za post-”Scream” eru. Nažalost, “Freddy vs. Jason” nije “Bride Of Chucky”, ali zna bljesnuti dovitljivošću i može zadovoljiti poklonike likova i njihovih (ne)djela.

Scenaristi Victor Miller (napisao originalni “Friday The 13th”) i Damian Shannon (remake “Petka 13.” iz 2009.) zgodno su pospojili Krugera i Voorheesa, ubojice iz Ulice brijestova i s Kristalnog jezera, kao što je skladatelj Graeme Revell vješto isprepleo njihove prepoznatljive glazbene teme koje izazivaju “ježenje”. Naime, otkako je zatočen u paklu Freddy (nezamjenjivi Robert Englund) odatle može izaći i ponovno ući u tinejdžerske snove samo ako ga se mladi sjete i počnu opet bojati.

“Nije problem biti mrtav nego zaboravljen. Ne mogu se vratiti ako me se nitko ne sjeća, strah je moja karta za povratak”, govori Kruger nakon što se prisjeti svoje “legendarne vladavine terora” u “best of” kolažu scena iz prijašnjih filmova. Na vlastitu sreću, Freddy je u “utrobi pakla” pronašao “nekoga tko će ih natjerati da se sjećaju” – Jasona (Ken Kirzinger).

Nakon što mu uđe u snove, Kruger nahuška Voorheesa na Ulicu brijestova u fiktivnom američkom gradiću Springwood kako bi tamo ubijao umjesto njega i izazivao strah da (mladi) ljudi nanovo izgovore njegovo ime misleći da je on odgovoran za ubojstva, što ima smisla nakon što jedna žrtva završi neprirodno zgnječena u krevetu na sklapanje (sjetimo se nadnaravne smrti lika Johnnyja Deppa u izvornom filmu).

“Dok ne ojačam, pustit ću Jasona da se zabavlja”, veli Freddy. Međutim, problem je što Voorhees ne zna stati ubijati i Kruger bi, kako je ovaj krenuo, mogao ostati bez žrtava. Stoga, njihov duel je neminovan, a odvijat će se stvarnosti i u svijetu snova, naravno na štetu ostalih likova/tinejdžera koje predvode Lori i Kia (Monica Keena iz serije “Dawson’s Creek”, pjevačica Kelly Rowland iz “Destiny’s Child”).

“Nismo sigurni ako spavamo i ako smo budni”, opaža Kia, jedini iole interesantan lik u filma krcatom krajnje nezanimljivim ljudskim karakterima, opremljene nerijetko lošim dijalozima. “Freddy protiv Jasona” je nadrealniji i inteligentniji od svakog nastavka “Friday The 13th” koji u boljim izdanjima ne doseže lošije izdanke znatno kompleksnijeg serijala “Nightmare On Elm Street” i navikao nas je na slične likove i scene velikog, a neiskorištenog potencijala (u ovom slučaju rave party u kukuruzištu).

Utoliko, može se reći da film neujednačeno ubacuje “Petak 13.” u Ulicu brijestova, tj. da Kruger u ovom okršaju prolazi bolje od Voorheesa. Isprve je štosno vidjeti Jasona u (sub)urbanom okruženju, daleko od šumom obavijenog Kristalnog jezera, ali s vremenom on izgleda kao “uljez”, odnosno djeluje kao još jedan u nizu hororskih ubojica iz predgrađa.

I Freddy je “uljez” kad se radnja iz snova preseli na Kristalno jezero, ali on bolje trpi satiričke “screamovske” žalce scenarista s obzirom da je “Strava u Ulici brijestova” pronalazila mjesta i za (auto)ironični, morbidni humor uz horor, uključujući Krugerove “one-linere”, a za razliku od Voorheesa i “Friday The 13th” koji su “straight”.

Kia, tako, sprda Freddyja u vezi njegovih “nožića.” “Je li time pokušavaš nešto kompenzirati? Možda si malo kratak između nogu? Mislim, ti imaš te male stvari, a Jason ima tu veliku staru stvar...”, veli Kia koja će u jednoj sceni zamalo oživjeti Voorheesa tehnikom “usta na usta” jer ga Kruger utapa u snovima (bljak!).

Kad se ikonički negativci napokon dohvate, tijekom čega Freddy uzima Jasonovu mačetu u ruku, a Jason koristi Freddyjeve kandže protiv njega, fanovi bi mogli biti zadovoljni njihovim duelom koji premješta slasherski horor na teren akcijskog filma, premda su zasigurno vrtjeli i nešto još luđe u vlastitoj glavi razmišljajući tko je jači. Vrhunac je trenutak kad Voorhees postane svojevrsna loptica u Krugerovu fliperu košmara i Freddyjevo torpediranje Jasona. Neka (naj)bolji pobijedi.

Najveći horor kinohit 2003.

Film je imao premijeru 13. kolovoza 2003. i postao je hit sa zaradom od 82 milijuna dolara samo u američkim kinima, odnosno ukupno 116 u svjetskima, a na budžet od 30. Bio je to i najgledaniji horor godine, ispred remakea "Teksaškog masakra motornom pilom".

Kandža s britvama Freddyja Krugera izronila je iz zemlje i odnijela hokejašku masku Jasona Voorheesa. Dogodilo se to 1993. na samom kraju devetog dijela serijala “Petak 13.”, naslovljenog “Jason ide u pakao”. Veliko iznenađenje za filmofile bilo je ekvivalantno prizoru Alienove lubanje među Predatorovim trofejima u “Predatoru 2” tri godine ranije.

”Jason Goes To Hell: The Final Friday” je posijao sjeme za tzv. crossover film s dvije ponajveće hororske ikone, nezaboravne negativce serijala “Strava u Ulici brijestova” i “Petak 13.”. Pa ipak, trebalo je proći deset godina da se Freddy i Jason nađu u istom kadru.
