Dolaskom Donalda Tuska na poziciju premijera Poljske, Viktor Orbán izgubio je ključnog saveznika unutar Europske unije s kojim može kočiti pregovore i blokirati prijedloge koji mu nisu po volji. No, nije morao dugo samovati jer izgleda kako mu se u zadavanju glavobolje Bruxellesu pridružio jedan drugi europski čelnik.

Slovački premijer Robert Fico počinje se ponašati poput Orbána. Nakon što je proveo rigoroznu "čistku" u redovima policije, ukinuo specijalno tužiteljstvo za borbu protiv korupcije i smanjio kazne za financijske prijevare, pokušao se okomiti i na medije predlažući zakon koji predviđa restrukturiranje javne radiotelevizije RTVS. Cilj je slovačke vlade pretvoriti javni servis u Ficov propagandni kabinet.

"Fico pokušava stvoriti mafijašku državu u kojoj je primarni cilj održati funkcioniranje piramide moći", rekao je za Politico politički analitičar Michal Vašečkas, prenosi Jutarnji list.

Nakon što je ponovno izabran na funkciju premijera, Fico je znatno ublažio antiukrajinsku retoriku, svjestan činjenice da bi Bruxelles, nastupi li "pretvrdo", mogao zamrznuti sredstva iz fondova EU. S gospodarstvom od 115 milijardi eura (BDP u 2022.), Slovačka je prilično ovisna o europskom novcu i ne može toliko utjecati na politike EU poput Mađarske.

No, to Fica nije zaustavilo da na domaćem terenu prepiše Orbánove poteze kršenja vladavine prava i temeljnih europskih vrijednosti.

Od 2004. godine istrage specijalnog tužiteljstva Slovačke dovele su do brojnih presuda u slučajevima korupcije visokog profila, od kojih su mnoge bile povezane s članovima vladajuće stranke Smer i Ficovim poslovnim suradnicima. Nakon što je ponovno došao na vlast, Fico je požurio reformirati kazneni zakon kako bi smanjio kazne za korupciju i skratio zastaru za teška kaznena djela kao što je silovanje.

"Prioritet za [Fica] je kupiti nekažnjivost za svoje poslušnike, demontirati demokraciju i uspostaviti neku vrstu autokratskog režima", kaže bivši premijer L‘udovít Ódor.

Fico se okomio ina medije, zbog kojih je bio prisiljen odstupiti s vlasti 2018. nakon što je ubojstvo istraživačkog novinara Jána Kuciáka i njegove zaručnice Martine Kušnírove potaknulo masovne prosvjede u zemlji. - Sada kada je Robert Fico ponovno na vlasti, želi osvetu. Povjerenik za pravosuđe Europske komisije Didier Reynders poslao je u prosincu pismo slovačkoj vladi, tražeći od nje da ne ukidaju tužiteljstvo. Šefica Ureda europskog javnog tužitelja Laura Kövesi rekla je za Politico da je "vrlo zabrinuta" i poslala je pismo Komisiji u kojem je to i izrazila razmatrajući razvoj događaja u Slovačkoj. Potpredsjednik Europskog parlamenta Martin Hojsík također je upozorio da bi Slovačka mogla izgubiti pristup fondovima EU ako Ficova vlada nastavi ovim neliberalnim putem.

Slovaci ovog vikenda izlaze na birališta kako bi izabrali predsjednika, a drugi krug između dva najbolja kandidata trebao bi se održati 6. travnja.

Dolaskom Donalda Tuska na poziciju premijera Poljske, Viktor Orbán izgubio je ključnog saveznika unutar Europske unije s kojim može kočiti pregovore i blokirati prijedloge koji mu nisu po volji. No, nije morao dugo samovati jer izgleda kako mu se u zadavanju glavobolje Bruxellesu pridružio jedan drugi europski čelnik.

Slovački premijer Robert Fico počinje se ponašati poput Orbána. Nakon što je proveo rigoroznu "čistku" u redovima policije, ukinuo specijalno tužiteljstvo za borbu protiv korupcije i smanjio kazne za financijske prijevare, pokušao se okomiti i na medije predlažući zakon koji predviđa restrukturiranje javne radiotelevizije RTVS. Cilj je slovačke vlade pretvoriti javni servis u Ficov propagandni kabinet.

"Fico pokušava stvoriti mafijašku državu u kojoj je primarni cilj održati funkcioniranje piramide moći", rekao je za Politico politički analitičar Michal Vašečkas, prenosi Jutarnji list.

Nakon što je ponovno izabran na funkciju premijera, Fico je znatno ublažio antiukrajinsku retoriku, svjestan činjenice da bi Bruxelles, nastupi li "pretvrdo", mogao zamrznuti sredstva iz fondova EU. S gospodarstvom od 115 milijardi eura (BDP u 2022.), Slovačka je prilično ovisna o europskom novcu i ne može toliko utjecati na politike EU poput Mađarske.

No, to Fica nije zaustavilo da na domaćem terenu prepiše Orbánove poteze kršenja vladavine prava i temeljnih europskih vrijednosti.

Od 2004. godine istrage specijalnog tužiteljstva Slovačke dovele su do brojnih presuda u slučajevima korupcije visokog profila, od kojih su mnoge bile povezane s članovima vladajuće stranke Smer i Ficovim poslovnim suradnicima. Nakon što je ponovno došao na vlast, Fico je požurio reformirati kazneni zakon kako bi smanjio kazne za korupciju i skratio zastaru za teška kaznena djela kao što je silovanje.

"Prioritet za [Fica] je kupiti nekažnjivost za svoje poslušnike, demontirati demokraciju i uspostaviti neku vrstu autokratskog režima", kaže bivši premijer L‘udovít Ódor.

Fico se okomio ina medije, zbog kojih je bio prisiljen odstupiti s vlasti 2018. nakon što je ubojstvo istraživačkog novinara Jána Kuciáka i njegove zaručnice Martine Kušnírove potaknulo masovne prosvjede u zemlji. - Sada kada je Robert Fico ponovno na vlasti, želi osvetu. On lovi novinare - rekao je aktivist Ján Gálik.

Povjerenik za pravosuđe Europske komisije Didier Reynders poslao je u prosincu pismo slovačkoj vladi, tražeći od nje da ne ukidaju tužiteljstvo. Šefica Ureda europskog javnog tužitelja Laura Kövesi rekla je za Politico da je "vrlo zabrinuta" i poslala je pismo Komisiji u kojem je to i izrazila razmatrajući razvoj događaja u Slovačkoj. Potpredsjednik Europskog parlamenta Martin Hojsík također je upozorio da bi Slovačka mogla izgubiti pristup fondovima EU ako Ficova vlada nastavi ovim neliberalnim putem.

Slovaci ovog vikenda izlaze na birališta kako bi izabrali predsjednika, a drugi krug između dva najbolja kandidata trebao bi se održati 6. travnja.
