Službena glasila Mianmara u nedjelju su izvjestila da se stanovništvo "masovno" odazvalo ustavnom referendumu održanom dan ranije, a vojni režim ga je ocijenio velikim "uspjehom" koji nije mogla pokvariti niti činjenica da je u naletu ciklona Nargis poginulo i nestalo oko 60.000 ljudi.

"Održavanje referenduma okrunjeno je uspjehom u cijeloj zemlji", osim u 47 jedinica Yangoona i Irrawaddya gdje je glasovanje odgođeno za 24. svibnja, izvjestio je list New Light of Myanmar koji je pod kontrolom hunte.

U dnevnom listu se niti u jednom retku ne spominje katastrofa u kojoj je, osim velikog broja poginulih, oko milijun i pol ljudi teško pogođeno i trpi velike posljedice ciklona, a dobar dio njih još nije primio nikakvu pomoć.

Prema tumačenju hunte, usvajanje ustava omogućit će 2010. "višestranačke izbore" i moguć "prijenos vlasti" na civilna tijela, no oporba tvrdi da tekst dokumenta učvršćuje prevlast vojske, na vlasti od 1962.

Stranka oporbene čelnice Aung San Suu Kyi tražila je odgodu referenduma kako bi se prioritet dao žrtvama ciklona Nargis, no generali su odlučili suprotno.

Službena glasila Mianmara u nedjelju su izvjestila da se stanovništvo "masovno" odazvalo ustavnom referendumu održanom dan ranije, a vojni režim ga je ocijenio velikim "uspjehom" koji nije mogla pokvariti niti činjenica da je u naletu ciklona Nargis poginulo i nestalo oko 60.000 ljudi.

"Održavanje referenduma okrunjeno je uspjehom u cijeloj zemlji", osim u 47 jedinica Yangoona i Irrawaddya gdje je glasovanje odgođeno za 24. svibnja, izvjestio je list New Light of Myanmar koji je pod kontrolom hunte.

U dnevnom listu se niti u jednom retku ne spominje katastrofa u kojoj je, osim velikog broja poginulih, oko milijun i pol ljudi teško pogođeno i trpi velike posljedice ciklona, a dobar dio njih još nije primio nikakvu pomoć.

Prema tumačenju hunte, usvajanje ustava omogućit će 2010. "višestranačke izbore" i moguć "prijenos vlasti" na civilna tijela, no oporba tvrdi da tekst dokumenta učvršćuje prevlast vojske, na vlasti od 1962.

Stranka oporbene čelnice Aung San Suu Kyi tražila je odgodu referenduma kako bi se prioritet dao žrtvama ciklona Nargis, no generali su odlučili suprotno.
