Nema euforije. Čudan neki osjećaj. Kao kad vam padne kamen sa srca. To bi bilo to. Dogodila se velika stvar koju sam želio, dugo sam na to čekao. Sad sam miran. Spokojan. Sve mi je sad ravno... – ispijajući jutarnju kavu priča Nikša Prkačin, kapetan hrvatske košarkaške reprezentacije. Prilaze mu znani i neznani. Čestitke sa svih strana.
- Nisam više u Ateni. Već sam u Pekingu. U Ateni smo napravili jednu skalinu, koja nas je dovela do nečega što ćemo pamtiti. Nećemo Atenu pamtiti u svojim karijerama. Pamtit ćemo nastup na Olimpijskim igrama u Pekingu. Dakle, sad sam mislima u Pekingu i razmišljam što i kako dalje – priča 33-godišnji Dubrovčanin.

Nisam previše razmišljao o ždrijebu skupina olimpijskog turnira, a kad sam počeo razmišljati o tome, ždrijeb je već bio održan. Znalo se protiv koga ćemo igrati u Pekingu. Inače, nikad nisam previše pažnje posvećivao ždrijebu. Na njega se ne može utjecati. O njemu razmišljam tek kad se dogodi. Australija, Rusija, Argentina, Litva te Iran. Protivnici u skupini. Upravo tim redom.
- Utakmica protiv Australije nam je ključna za plasman u četvrtfinale. Očekujem pobjedu protiv Irana. Dakle, dobijemo li Australiju to nam osigurava četvrtfinale protiv SAD-a. Nitko, nije pričao o nekakvom cilju, ali plasman u četvrtfinale bi bio taj prvi cilj. S nekom pobjedom više u skupini izbjegli bi u četvrtfinalu Amerikance.
Išli u tom slučaju na Kinu, Grčku, Njemačku ili Španjolsku, a to su sve ekipe koje mi možemo pobijediti. Ne kažem kako smo bolji, nismo, ali budemo li igrali kao u Ateni, imamo izgleda za uspjeh. A to polufinale bilo bi onda veliki, veliki uspjeh.
Novi poznanik i nova čestitka:
- Bravo Prka, drago mi je zbog tebe. Znam koliko si želio nastupiti na Olimpijskim igrama. Koliko si pričao o tome - rekao je. Zahvalio se Prka te nastavio razgovor, nadovezao se na temu 'cilj na Olimpijadi’.
- Poraz protiv Australije bi me razočarao.
Ponovno stanka. Razlog već poznat.
- Dva puta smo igrali protiv Australaca. Dobili su nas na početku priprema, a mi njih u Ateni, na turniru prije kvalifikacija. Kad bi ekipe bile kakve su bile u te dvije utakmice, potpisao bih, dobit ćemo. Ali, njima će se priključiti Bogut, a s njim su Australci puno kvalitetnija momčad. Ma, bez obzira na Boguta, opet sam uvjeren u našu pobjedu.
Osmijeh mu nije silazio s lica tijekom čitavog razgovora.
- Sad sam kao dijete koje je sto puta željelo da mu kupe sladoled, i na kraju ga dobilo. I držim sad taj sladoled u ruci. Gledam ga. Sjedim. Uživam jer sam ga napokon dobio. I ne preostaje mi ništa drugo nego početi ga lizati i uživati. Taj moj sladoled su Olimpijske igre.

Nema euforije. Čudan neki osjećaj. Kao kad vam padne kamen sa srca. To bi bilo to. Dogodila se velika stvar koju sam želio, dugo sam na to čekao. Sad sam miran. Spokojan. Sve mi je sad ravno... – ispijajući jutarnju kavu priča Nikša Prkačin, kapetan hrvatske košarkaške reprezentacije. Prilaze mu znani i neznani. Čestitke sa svih strana.
- Nisam više u Ateni. Već sam u Pekingu. U Ateni smo napravili jednu skalinu, koja nas je dovela do nečega što ćemo pamtiti. Nećemo Atenu pamtiti u svojim karijerama. Pamtit ćemo nastup na Olimpijskim igrama u Pekingu. Dakle, sad sam mislima u Pekingu i razmišljam što i kako dalje – priča 33-godišnji Dubrovčanin.

Nisam previše razmišljao o ždrijebu skupina olimpijskog turnira, a kad sam počeo razmišljati o tome, ždrijeb je već bio održan. Znalo se protiv koga ćemo igrati u Pekingu. Inače, nikad nisam previše pažnje posvećivao ždrijebu. Na njega se ne može utjecati. O njemu razmišljam tek kad se dogodi. Australija, Rusija, Argentina, Litva te Iran. Protivnici u skupini. Upravo tim redom.
- Utakmica protiv Australije nam je ključna za plasman u četvrtfinale. Očekujem pobjedu protiv Irana. Dakle, dobijemo li Australiju to nam osigurava četvrtfinale protiv SAD-a. Nitko, nije pričao o nekakvom cilju, ali plasman u četvrtfinale bi bio taj prvi cilj. S nekom pobjedom više u skupini izbjegli bi u četvrtfinalu Amerikance.
Išli u tom slučaju na Kinu, Grčku, Njemačku ili Španjolsku, a to su sve ekipe koje mi možemo pobijediti. Ne kažem kako smo bolji, nismo, ali budemo li igrali kao u Ateni, imamo izgleda za uspjeh. A to polufinale bilo bi onda veliki, veliki uspjeh.
Novi poznanik i nova čestitka:
- Bravo Prka, drago mi je zbog tebe. Znam koliko si želio nastupiti na Olimpijskim igrama. Koliko si pričao o tome - rekao je. Zahvalio se Prka te nastavio razgovor, nadovezao se na temu 'cilj na Olimpijadi’.
- Poraz protiv Australije bi me razočarao.
Ponovno stanka. Razlog već poznat.
- Dva puta smo igrali protiv Australaca. Dobili su nas na početku priprema, a mi njih u Ateni, na turniru prije kvalifikacija. Kad bi ekipe bile kakve su bile u te dvije utakmice, potpisao bih, dobit ćemo. Ali, njima će se priključiti Bogut, a s njim su Australci puno kvalitetnija momčad. Ma, bez obzira na Boguta, opet sam uvjeren u našu pobjedu.
Osmijeh mu nije silazio s lica tijekom čitavog razgovora.
- Sad sam kao dijete koje je sto puta željelo da mu kupe sladoled, i na kraju ga dobilo. I držim sad taj sladoled u ruci. Gledam ga. Sjedim. Uživam jer sam ga napokon dobio. I ne preostaje mi ništa drugo nego početi ga lizati i uživati. Taj moj sladoled su Olimpijske igre.
