Grad Šibenik sa svojim predgrađima ima četrnaest crkava, a ona najstarija sv.Grgura iz 13. stoljeća na Gorici u Ulici Jurja Dalmatinca odavna nije u funkciji.

U njenim sačuvanim prostorima neko je vrijeme bio postav Jurjevih djela, graditelja katedrale sv. Jakova. Pa je i to prestalo.

Tijekom Domovinskoga rata, od neprijateljskih granata stradale su dvije crkve. I to upravo šibenska prvostolnica, te crkva sv.Roka iz 16. stoljeća u Zatonu. S ratnoga broda mornarice bivše države na dan 18. rujna pogođena je kupola katedrale, što je bio izravni kulturocid. Na plaštu kupole djelo majstora Nikole Firentinca, granata topa od 40 milimetara načinila je rupu, a u prezbiteriju crkve razbacane su i oštećene svetinje bazilike.

Obnova je bila duga i složena. Njome je rukovodio inf. Zvonko Najev iz biskupskoga Ureda za graditeljstvo koje je tada postojalo. Na podignutim skelama na visini od 35 metara oko kupole hrabri radnici su bili gotovo nezaštićeni, jer se nisu imali čime zaštititi, osim užeta kojim su bili privezani.

A na onoj drugoj, manjoj župnoj crkvi sv.Roka u Zatonu, situacije je bila drukčija. Njen je zvonik bio pogođen tenkovskom granatom kad je srbočetnički agresor iz zaleđa preko Zatona izbio na šibenski most.

Stradalo je i krovište crkve, oštećeni su i okolni objekti. A u akciji obnove 1996. godine, sudjelovao je i helikopter HRZ, postavljajući iz zraka navrh zvonika novu piramidalnu kupolu. Što smo i mi zabilježili našom kamerom.

Kad je sve bilo završeno, Zatonjani su to proslavili posebnom feštom. A osobito iduće godine, dan nakon Velike Gospe, na blagdan sv.Roka 16. kolovoza, kad se po tradiciji održava i veliki mjesni sajam na koji rado odlaze i bojni Šibenčani.

Naravno, uz svetu misu u crkvi zatonskoga zaštitnika.

U obnovi crkve sv. Roka u Zatonu sudjelovao je i HRZ

Grad Šibenik sa svojim predgrađima ima četrnaest crkava, a ona najstarija sv.Grgura iz 13. stoljeća na Gorici u Ulici Jurja Dalmatinca odavna nije u funkciji.

U njenim sačuvanim prostorima neko je vrijeme bio postav Jurjevih djela, graditelja katedrale sv. Jakova. Pa je i to prestalo.

Tijekom Domovinskoga rata, od neprijateljskih granata stradale su dvije crkve. I to upravo šibenska prvostolnica, te crkva sv.Roka iz 16. stoljeća u Zatonu. S ratnoga broda mornarice bivše države na dan 18. rujna pogođena je kupola katedrale, što je bio izravni kulturocid. Na plaštu kupole djelo majstora Nikole Firentinca, granata topa od 40 milimetara načinila je rupu, a u prezbiteriju crkve razbacane su i oštećene svetinje bazilike.

Obnova je bila duga i složena. Njome je rukovodio inf. Zvonko Najev iz biskupskoga Ureda za graditeljstvo koje je tada postojalo. Na podignutim skelama na visini od 35 metara oko kupole hrabri radnici su bili gotovo nezaštićeni, jer se nisu imali čime zaštititi, osim užeta kojim su bili privezani.

A na onoj drugoj, manjoj župnoj crkvi sv.Roka u Zatonu, situacije je bila drukčija. Njen je zvonik bio pogođen tenkovskom granatom kad je srbočetnički agresor iz zaleđa preko Zatona izbio na šibenski most.

Stradalo je i krovište crkve, oštećeni su i okolni objekti. A u akciji obnove 1996. godine, sudjelovao je i helikopter HRZ, postavljajući iz zraka navrh zvonika novu piramidalnu kupolu. Što smo i mi zabilježili našom kamerom.

Kad je sve bilo završeno, Zatonjani su to proslavili posebnom feštom. A osobito iduće godine, dan nakon Velike Gospe, na blagdan sv.Roka 16. kolovoza, kad se po tradiciji održava i veliki mjesni sajam na koji rado odlaze i bojni Šibenčani.

Naravno, uz svetu misu u crkvi zatonskoga zaštitnika.
