Nakon što zdravstveni nadzornici odobre lijek, deseci tisuća ljudi mogli bi po prvi put dobiti tablete za prevenciju migrene od Nacionalne zdravstvene službe (NHS). Nacionalni institut za zdravlje i izvrsnost skrbi (NICE) prvi je put preporučio oralni tretman za sprječavanje migrene koji bi mogao pomoći 145.000 pacijenata godišnje u sprječavanju migrene, piše Telegraph.
Otprilike jedna od sedam osoba pati od migrena, u Engleskoj je to blizu šest milijuna ljudi s gotovo 200.000 napadaja dnevno. Rimegepant, koji se naziva i Vydura, proizvodi farmaceutska kompanija Pfizer, a preporučuje se kao opcija za sprječavanje napadaja kod odraslih kod kojih su najmanje tri prethodna tretmana bila neuspješna.
Rimegepant košta oko 13 funti (15 eura) po tableti, tabletu je potrebno uzimati svaki drugi dan tako da je se otopi pod jezikom. Djeluje tako da zaustavlja otpuštanje proteina oko mozga koji se naziva kalcitonin-gen i odgovoran je za upalu moždane ovojnice i jaku bol povezanu s napadajima migrene.
Trenutačni preventivni tretmani uključuju ubrizgavanje ili korištenje lijekova kao što su beta-blokatori i antidepresivi dizajnirani za liječenje drugih stanja. U tijeku je ispitivanje lijekova za osobe koje pate od povremenih migrena, što znači da imaju najmanje četiri napadaja mjesečno, ali manje od 15. Oni kod kojih se napadaji javljaju češće od toga klasificirani su kao oboljeli od kronične migrene i podobni su za injekcije.

Migrene su povezane s nizom simptoma, uključujući i glavobolju, povraćanje, mučninu, poremećaj vida, umor i osjetljivost na svjetlo, zvuk i mirise.
- Osim iscrpljujućih fizičkih simptoma, migrena može predstavljati značajan pritisak na profesionalne i osobne živote onih koji s njom žive, uključujući prisilni izostanak s posla. Nakon što zdravstveni nadzornici odobre lijek, deseci tisuća ljudi mogli bi po prvi put dobiti tablete za prevenciju migrene od Nacionalne zdravstvene službe (NHS). Nacionalni institut za zdravlje i izvrsnost skrbi (NICE) prvi je put preporučio oralni tretman za sprječavanje migrene koji bi mogao pomoći 145.000 pacijenata godišnje u sprječavanju migrene, piše Telegraph.
Otprilike jedna od sedam osoba pati od migrena, u Engleskoj je to blizu šest milijuna ljudi s gotovo 200.000 napadaja dnevno. Rimegepant, koji se naziva i Vydura, proizvodi farmaceutska kompanija Pfizer, a preporučuje se kao opcija za sprječavanje napadaja kod odraslih kod kojih su najmanje tri prethodna tretmana bila neuspješna.
Rimegepant košta oko 13 funti (15 eura) po tableti, tabletu je potrebno uzimati svaki drugi dan tako da je se otopi pod jezikom. Djeluje tako da zaustavlja otpuštanje proteina oko mozga koji se naziva kalcitonin-gen i odgovoran je za upalu moždane ovojnice i jaku bol povezanu s napadajima migrene.
Trenutačni preventivni tretmani uključuju ubrizgavanje ili korištenje lijekova kao što su beta-blokatori i antidepresivi dizajnirani za liječenje drugih stanja. U tijeku je ispitivanje lijekova za osobe koje pate od povremenih migrena, što znači da imaju najmanje četiri napadaja mjesečno, ali manje od 15. Oni kod kojih se napadaji javljaju češće od toga klasificirani su kao oboljeli od kronične migrene i podobni su za injekcije.
