Prema najnovijem izvješću Islandskog meteorološkog ureda, intenzitet vulkanske erupcije se smanjuje. To je vidljivo iz seizmičkih mjerenja, piše Slobodna Dalmacija.

Činjenica da se aktivnost već smanjuje nije pokazatelj koliko će erupcija trajati, već da erupcija dolazi u stanje ravnoteže, piše Met Office u 3 sata ujutro. Ovakav razvoj je uočen na početku svih erupcija na poluotoku Reykjanes posljednjih godina.

Stigle su prve fotografije i snimke veličanstvenog prirodnog fenomena. Helikopter obalne straže zaputio se do vulkana i iz zraka snimio prizore erupcije.

Islandski Met Office izvijestio je da je vulkan erumpirao oko 4 kilometra sjeveroistočno od Grindavika i da se seizmička aktivnost kretala prema gradu, prenosi BBC.

Duljina pukotine u vulkanu je oko 3,5 kilometra, a lava teče brzinom od oko 100 do 200 kubičnih metara u sekundi, Ističe se da je to nekoliko puta više nego u prethodnim erupcijama na poluotoku Reykjanes zadnjih godina.

Erupcija je započela u 22:17 sati po lokalnom vremenu, tvrdi Islandski meteorološki ured.

RANIJE:

Na islandskom poluotoku Reykjaness započela je erupcija vulkana.

Snažan potres pogodio je Reykjaness u ponedjeljak oko 21 sat. Prvi neslužbeni podaci pokazuju da je najveći potres u nizu bio magnitude 4,2 i dogodio se u 21:03.

Þorvald Þórðarson, vulkanolog, kaže da je ovo, na prvi pogled, najgori mogući scenarij. Čini se da je erupcija bila u Hagafellu, iznad Grindavíka.

Vlasti su tijekom nekeoliko dana evakuirale gotovo 4000 stanovnika ribarskog gradića Grindavik i zatvorile obližnje geotermalne toplice i veliku turističku atrakciju ‘Plava laguna‘.

Slobodnoj Dalmaciji se iz Reykjavika javio i Dino Đula:

- Velik broj ljudi izlazi van da bi što bolje snimili erupciju. Ironično je što su baš danas razmatrali da dopuste ljudima da se vrate svojim kućama, a spa resort Blue Lagoon se otvorio jučer i sada se ovo dogodi, kazao nam je.

Stigle su prve fotografije i snimke veličanstvenog prirodnog fenomena. Helikopter obalne straže zaputio se do vulkana i iz zraka snimio prizore erupcije.

Islandski Met Office izvijestio je da je vulkan erumpirao oko 4 kilometra sjeveroistočno od Grindavika i da se seizmička aktivnost kretala prema gradu, prenosi BBC.

Duljina pukotine u vulkanu je oko 3,5 kilometra, a lava teče brzinom od oko 100 do 200 kubičnih metara u sekundi, Ističe se da je to nekoliko puta više nego u prethodnim erupcijama na poluotoku Reykjanes zadnjih godina.

Erupcija je započela u 22:17 sati po lokalnom vremenu, tvrdi Islandski meteorološki ured.

Þorvald Þórðarson, vulkanolog, kaže da je ovo, na prvi pogled, najgori mogući scenarij. Čini se da je erupcija bila u Hagafellu, iznad Grindavíka.

Vlasti su tijekom nekeoliko dana evakuirale gotovo 4000 stanovnika ribarskog gradića Grindavik i zatvorile obližnje geotermalne toplice i veliku turističku atrakciju ‘Plava laguna‘.

Slobodnoj Dalmaciji se iz Reykjavika javio i Dino Đula:

- Velik broj ljudi izlazi van da bi što bolje snimili erupciju. Ironično je što su baš danas razmatrali da dopuste ljudima da se vrate svojim kućama, a spa resort Blue Lagoon se otvorio jučer i sada se ovo dogodi, kazao nam je.
