Članovi Hrvatskog biospeleološkog društva, u suradnji s hrvatskim Prirodoslovnim muzejom, već četvrtu godinu sustavno istražuju podzemni tok rijeke Betine, u potrazi za endemom podzemnog školjkaša, Congeria busceri, čije su ljušture nađene na tom lokalitetu.

Riječ je o rijeci u vrgoračkom kraju kraj ekološkoga i zaštićenog sela Kokorići. Ove godine, i ne sluteći, otkrili su jezero dubine 20 metara u podzemnom toku te rijeke.

- Roneći u potrazi za endemima na ovom području, otkrili smo veliku prostoriju dimenzija 25 x 8 metara, dubine 20 metara, u kojoj je smješteno jezero - otkriva nam Branko Jalžić, voditelj projekta istraživanja Betine.

Dodaje kako je cijelo istraživanje prošlo uspješno jer su u rijeci još našli i endeme dinarskog područja poput goleme vodenbabure, čovječje ribice i špiljskog cjevaša.

Vrgorački ugostitelj Zvonimir Pervan, koji je odrastao uz ovu ponornicu, za sljedeću godinu najavljuje veliko speleološko istraživanje Betine, koja zasigurno krije još mnoge tajne.

Članovi Hrvatskog biospeleološkog društva, u suradnji s hrvatskim Prirodoslovnim muzejom, već četvrtu godinu sustavno istražuju podzemni tok rijeke Betine, u potrazi za endemom podzemnog školjkaša, Congeria busceri, čije su ljušture nađene na tom lokalitetu.

Riječ je o rijeci u vrgoračkom kraju kraj ekološkoga i zaštićenog sela Kokorići. Ove godine, i ne sluteći, otkrili su jezero dubine 20 metara u podzemnom toku te rijeke.

- Roneći u potrazi za endemima na ovom području, otkrili smo veliku prostoriju dimenzija 25 x 8 metara, dubine 20 metara, u kojoj je smješteno jezero - otkriva nam Branko Jalžić, voditelj projekta istraživanja Betine.

Dodaje kako je cijelo istraživanje prošlo uspješno jer su u rijeci još našli i endeme dinarskog područja poput goleme vodenbabure, čovječje ribice i špiljskog cjevaša.

Vrgorački ugostitelj Zvonimir Pervan, koji je odrastao uz ovu ponornicu, za sljedeću godinu najavljuje veliko speleološko istraživanje Betine, koja zasigurno krije još mnoge tajne.
