U siječnju su objavljene prve vijesti o prodaji slavne kuće Zimmerman Chrisu Prattu i supruzi Katherini Schwarzenegger. Kuću staru 74. godine projektirao je arhitekt Craig Ellwood iz južne Kalifornije. Novi vlasnici su sravnili kuću kako bi izgradili rezidenciju od 15.000 metara četvornih.

Prema Robb Reportu, par je platio 12.5 milijuna dolara za kuću u Brentwoodu, koja je obilježila jedan od najranijih Ellwoodovih projekata. Kuću Zimmerman izvorno je uredio Garrett Eckb.

Na TikTok Quinn Garvey (@vintageonq) objavila je video, snimljen unutar kuće Zimmerman tijekom prodaje imanja 2022. godine. Video prikazuje mnoge izvorne uređaje i strukture kuće, koji su još uvijek bili u dobrom stanju.

Kad je Garvey čula vijest, bila je "iznenađena". "Sjećam se da sam prolazila kroz kuću i bilo je to tako ugodno iskustvo", rekla je. "Mislila sam da je u odličnom stanju. Bila sam na prodaji imanja u kućama koje su bile malo oronule ili se vidi šteta od vode ili šarke ormara otpadaju, ali ta kuća je imala tako drugačiji osjećaj. Nisam mislila da će biti srušena. To je baš kao, stvarno? Morao si to učiniti?"

Konzervatori su također uznemireni zbog rušenja. Neprofitna organizacija Save Iconic Architecture opisala je rušenje kao "poražavajuće" na Instagramu, dok ga je drugi komentator usporedio s "kupnjom Rothka za zid".

Dizajnerica interijera Jaime Rummerfield, suosnivačica skupine za očuvanje arhitekture, rekla je Dwellu da može suosjećati s bijesom ljudi na internetu. "Sram ih bilo što nisu željeli zadržati nešto tako posebno", dodala je.

Podrazumijeva se da su ljudi ljuti jer, realno, par nije trebao srušiti kuću. Prema izvješćima, Katherinina majka Maria Shriver živi preko puta.

Iako je dom od 2770 četvornih metara skroman prema današnjim standardima, trgovci nekretninama poput Roba Kallicka iz Take Sunseta rekli su Dwellu da bi, da je bio na tržištu, izazvao veliko zanimanje, čak i po svojoj visokoj cijeni.

Iako priznaje da postoji ograničeno tržište za arhitektonski značajnu rezidenciju vrijednu 12,5 milijuna dolara, "postoje mnogi bogati ljudi koji duboko razumiju koliko bi ta kuća mogla biti vrijedna za očuvanje i obnovu, čak i ako je na neki način mala, relativno govoreći".

U siječnju su objavljene prve vijesti o prodaji slavne kuće Zimmerman Chrisu Prattu i supruzi Katherini Schwarzenegger. Kuću staru 74. godine projektirao je arhitekt Craig Ellwood iz južne Kalifornije. Novi vlasnici su sravnili kuću kako bi izgradili rezidenciju od 15.000 metara četvornih.
